We were happy that there were still 2 places available for a boat trip to Skellig Michael as we planned it too late probably. We got called the day before that our trip would start from 7:30am and if this would be okay. Sure, for...More
This I personally think was the highlight of our visit to SW Kerry. Dolphins birds and the magnificent Skelligs.
John and his dogs entertained us all the way out and back, skipper John was very professional and pointed out what we should watch for. His...More
We loved traveling to Skellig Michael with Skellig Tours!
The tour departs from Caherdaniel and it's a two hour trip out to the island. Ours was a very pleasant ride with beautiful views. Although we missed the dolphins that often accompany the boats out, we...More
The trip and island was an amazing experience. The boat had a bathroom and they even had rain jackets and pants if anyone needed. Loved the sea-worthy dogs they had on the boat. The road down to the pier was adventurous, so leave some extra...More
What an incredible day! Skellig is a must see if you can and no better way to get to the island than with John. John was beyond helpful to my unprepared family. He went out of his way to ensure us a successful trip to...More
The tour itself was quite straightforward…it’s just a long boat ride both ways, with some snacks thrown in on the way back. However, we were displeased with John’s attitude. For context, we lost our way while getting to the departure harbour (we incorrectly entered “Bunavalla...More
Definitely recommend booking with Skellig tours! We had a great day out. The journey out was a bit rough heading out to skellig Michael but there's nothing anyone can do about that. Some people on the boat did have a bit of sea sickness, so...More
Had a brilliant trip to Skellig Michael with Skellig Tours. Tour was booked few months in advance, €70 for the tour which is well worth it. About a 90 minute boat trip over and back. 2 and a half hours on the island. The island...More
Amazing experience from start to finish, don't leave Kerry or Ireland without a visit to Caherdaniel and the magical Skellig Islands which were breathtakingly beautiful. John was great to answer all my texts of silly questions and put my mind at ease before booking. Excellent...More
Visiting the Skelligs is only possible between mid May and September, thats why you can't see any booking slots. As a UNESCO site it is strictly managed. Hope that helps
Come back in Summer. Happy Christmas
Not very safe, not recommended for toddlers/young kids and not at all for the faint hearted. But possible if you could use a back/hiking carrier. You may not be able to make it to the top and you would have to be holding on... More
Not very safe, not recommended for toddlers/young kids and not at all for the faint hearted. But possible if you could use a back/hiking carrier. You may not be able to make it to the top and you would have to be holding on to your child for every minute - sheer cliff edges and narrow paths. Also no toilets on the island. It’s an amazing place and you would enjoy it a lot more without a toddler - if that were possible on this occasion. The boat trip can also be pretty changeable.
It is not a tour. You catch a prebooked boat to Skellig Michael. The cost in Summer 2015 was €60 .Its a self guided trip when you get to the rock but there are 3 well informed staff there to answer any queries you may have.
