Weird pub outside only seating. They bring ingredients and you build your own drinks. Outside seating was nice but drinks were not so good. Auto service fee added to bill? Seems to be popular by the crowd, maybe I was missing something

Best craft cocktail bar in Cleveland
Oct 2019
This place is wonderful and it’s not just the intricate and delicious drinks or the cozy brick and stained glass surroundings. The staff is well-trained to connect with each patron and help them choose their perfect drink. Just steps away from the neighborhood’s many outstanding restaurants, I highly recommend The Spotted Owl Tremont (they just opened a new one in Akron) for before and after dinner drinks.

Very cool speakeasy type place

Great for a chill night with friends. You can order from their special menu based on your mood and the main alcohol you want, or just order a "regular" drink. We did both and were happy with our libations.

Disgusting! Ants all over first table so we moved. Probably about 50 flies buzzing around our heads and at $15 per cocktail, that’s a clear indication of how little they care about customers. So it took us over 30 minutes and our server was super rude to a friend who asked him what was in her drink. All 8 of us vowed never again!

Trendy and Eclectic

Fantastic Manhattan cocktails and imaginative coffee-inspired cocktail "Pruning Shears" made for an unforgettable experience. Our mixologist "Sully" was terrific and explained the menu (over 400 possible cocktails) and suggested customized cocktails just for us.
She also explained the history of the place with some interesting stories. This is a one-of-a-kind place not to be missed.

Best Cocktail Bar Ever
Jul 2018 • Business
Simply one of the best bars I have ever been to. The bartender Niko was truly gifted. Once you've had his craft cocktails, you'll be dubious when other bars make the same claim. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and the cocktails were incredible. It is worth going to the Spotted Owl just to look at the menu which directs you to the type of cocktail you should order based on your taste preferences and your MOOD. The atmosphere is superb, with lots of history. I will go out of my way to go back.

Cozy, trendy, imaginative
Jul 2017 • Friends
Went here with a small group of friends on a Wednesday night and was surprised to find it mostly empty. The curated cocktail list had lots of tasty and imaginative offerings, and the literally underground vibe is fun and trendy. It must be packed on weekends.

Try the punches for good value, or anything with smoke as an ingredient.

Not a consumer-oriented bar

I'll start off by saying that before my visit to the Spotted Owl last night, I have been there a few times but have never felt compelled to write a review, until now.

First impression of The Spotted Owl was good; it feels trendy, hip, the underground cave-like space with stain glass windows behind the bar lends a sort of clandestine, speakeasy vibe. They are very serious about craft cocktails, specifically Manhattans. Except on Sunday nights.

This past Sunday night, my partner and I, after going out to dinner with another couple, convinced them to come with us to The Spotted Owl for a drink. Just like me, our friends were impressed by the whole vibe of the place, and willing to drop $12-18 on a decent Manhattan.

After sitting down at the bar, I asked the bartender for a drink list. His reply, "No. We can only do beer, wine, and shots tonight." I assumed he was joking, there's a full service bar right behind him, and why would this place not want to sell their (slightly overpriced) craft cocktails on a Sunday night? This bartender looked at us as if we were foreign to the restaurant/bar scene in Tremont and said, "Look, we're a big deal cocktail bar in this town Monday through Saturday, so we do this different thing on Sunday." My friend asked if he would be willing to make her a vodka cranberry, and our bartender, now visibly irritated, refused to oblige her request.

We left and went to a different bar across the street. I do not think I will ever be back to The Spotted Owl. I am the type of consumer to frequent places I really like, and I always encourage my friends to go to those places too. However, when I have an experience like this, where I felt that the establishment does not care much about their customers, and in this case, only their reputation, I will make sure to tell everyone who will listen.
