Youlgreave has 12 footpaths passing through it including the Limestone way which is well marked for the most but is best with a map. The bradford river from Middleto to youlgreave and bradford to Alport is beautiful and worth the effort.

My wife and I often visit Youlgrave with our 10 and 12 year old daughters. The limestone Way between Middletown by Youlgrave and Alport is one of the most picturesque stretches of walking you will find anywhere. Perfect 3 to 4 mile stretch of the...More

This is a great walk across the top of the dales, across some stunningly beautiful farm land and past some great views, there are a couple of climbs, but they are not too bad if you pace yourself, but its worth the effort as the...More

Glad I'm a young 73 year old. The walk by the river is beautiful - outstanding in places. Dippers, wagtails.... Waterfalls. Great for photos. Up the hillside is a little challenging, but we do it most years. A lovely village and a lovely walk.

We walked through this a bit too swiftly to enjoy it as much as those on a leisurely stroll, to be honest - we were nearing the end of Day 2 of the Way (north to south) as we approached Youlgreave from the west, and...More

We have done the longer circular walk in every kind of weather; even with snow drifts higher than the walls (which was great fun); but this weekend we decided to walk about half way back up the river towards Over Haddon. Magnificent weather brought out...More

There is parking in youlgrave near the church to enjoy this circular trail. It's short and easy going for kids, lovely river walk.

Very peaceful and quite walk next to the river. Muddy, but stone paths make it an easy walk and once you are down to the river, limited inclines which makes it good for young kids.
