The star disc overlooks the valley both ways.Stunning views and atmosphere. It's well worth a walk up to it or if you're not feeling energetic there's easy parking on the adjacent road. We regularly practise our qigong up there in the summer. Take a picnic...More

Amazing views from the Star disc, definitely worth the climb up the steep hill. Goes past some really historic buildings too!

A lovely discovery off the beaten path! Great piece of visual art on the top of a hill overlooking Wirksworth & Ecclesbourne Valley. Made up of a central black granite centre with the constellations etched into the stone & surrounded by 12 grey granite blocks...More

This is a lovely idea but we visited on a very bleak day. I can imagine on a clear day you would have the most incredible views and on a clear night this is the perfect spot for stargazing.

Walked up the steep hill from the town centre with a couple of stops along the way to get my breath but it is worth it. Good view around the area, would imagine it is best seen on a clear night.

how unusual is this place! parked in the entrance pull in on the Wirksworth to Middleton road and walked straight up the hill - steep! Took the longer way down round the edge. Be great to go when it's dark too as it lights up...More

Built in a community garden area, at the highest point, with super views of the local area. Lit at night using solar panel energy to enjoy the map of the night stars.
