For something a bit different for a couple of hours, the mill is well worth a visit. Our guide was very informative and we all loved the demonstrations of the machinery. Would highly recommend.

We visited here on a Tuesday morning. We found the site well maintained, and the tour given by Mick Callaghan was very interesting and well presented. Definitely worth a visit.

Great welcome by staff, really interesting tour. Learned a lot about the managed woodlands, Social history and saw how much work and effort went into making something as simple as a thread bobbin.Nice walks around the Mill area

The lady who gave the guided tour was superb, made it interesting for kids and adults alike. Seeing the machinery operating was also well worthwhile, if you visit make sure you don't miss the tour. Car park fee is refunded when you buy entrance tickets

First I must apologise to Robert our wonderful guide at this English Heritage run museum. Robert took us though the harvesting of the trees, seasoning then turning on old laths to produce the bobbins used in the cotton mills of Manchester. He even worked and...More

I’m not sure that you can take them around the factory but I do remember seeing a dog there so it’s worth giving them a ring

You're better off checking the English Heritage site for those details. I would post the link to the relevant webpage but Tripadvisor doesn't allow it.
