Not a lot to see here but I found the information boards about the Roman garrison based here very interesting, We parked in Raven glass and walked to the bath house and then returned along the shore line which was a very pleasant short walk

Not what we expected. If you are a real history buff then go for it. We expected to see a little more than a couple of walls and a small plaque. If you want to see a bath house there are much better examples to...More

Enjoyed visiting the remains of the bathhouse of the Roman fort at Ravenglass. Shame the fort is unexcavated and partly cut by the railway line, but nice to see this small sample of what it looked like. Easy access alongside a minor road just up...More

Extremely well preserved and not commercialised. Standing in the middle of nowhere it was well worth the walk to get there.

We walked here from Ravenglass Station but it wasn't really worth the trouble. Only a few walls remain and it's difficult to see how significant they were although there are two story boards which provide some explanation. The fort itself has not been excavated so...More

Could hardly believe that this place is still standing after so many years with so many walls still intact. Good description of the Roman settlement around it. Worth the long walk!

Not much to see and spoilt even more by metal railings put up around the walls. You may still want to go and visit, as there’s not much to do in the area.

As we were staying in the campsite just up the road, we decided to take a gentle stroll down to the Roman Bathhouse. It is a lovely little tree lined short walk with paths leading down to the estuary and countryside which we used after...More

Came here on a wet day while camping at Fisherground. I love anything from classical history so was in my element here. Yeah, they are ruins, and yeah there's not a massive amount to see, but on seeing the map of the roman camp and...More

These fascinating ruins of a Roman bath house are just a short walk away from the Railway station in Ravenglass. It's incredible to imagine the people who lived during that time and there is a good explanation of the ruins that you see before you....More

The ruins of this bath house stand just over the road from the large un-excavated site of the Roman fort at Ravenglass (Glanaventa). Well worth a look, with walls standing 4m high in places; there is a helpful interpretation board with an artist's impression of...More
