Came for a lovely spring walk here today and it was a lovely experience. Its very sad to see that the Japanese garden which has been there since 1914 is a very sad state of disrepair 😥 The last review on here was in 2016...More

A wonderful Spring Garden, not to be missed. The colours are magnificent. Looked after by local volunteers. Azaleas, Maples, Rhodes, everything. Try and fit in a visit in Springtime

Was looking forward to this but it's a huge disappointment. It's so overgrown you have no idea were it starts or ends. Don't bother with this and go do something else. If you have dogs just walk past the Japanese entrance sign and about 50...More

Lovely walk through the Japanese gardens, created in 1913, and a beautiful fell walk on a sunny morning.

The Japanese Garden may be very overgrown and not in its former glory, but it's good fun and a nice walk up to visit. Be warned - it's uphill and the paths can be a bit muddy. We enjoyed the little wooden bridges and the...More

We have never been to such beautiful Japanese garden before. The lady who appeared to be the caretaker showed us around and we had a lovely few hours exploring Giggle Alley. Definitely worth a visit.

If you want a strenuous walk up a track and steps to reach the top of a hill, you're in luck. If you're taken in by the promise of a Japanese garden at the summit, think again. This is so overgrown now that you can...More

We saw signs for this Japanese garden and decided to stop off here on our way back to our campsite. We thought the free parking was too good to be true (every other car park in the Lakes charges about £4 an hour) and sure...More

Nice quiet peaceful walk. A few little trails to explore and old Japanese garden. I like to come here with the kids because they like to explore.

The Japanese garden adjacent to Giggle alley has been seriously neglected while the alley is not really a giggle. Where the name comes from is a mystery. If you are there its worth a quick look but don't expect too much.
