Visited several waterfalls during our holiday but this was our favourite, the walk through the woods was lovely and the atmosphere around the falls is very special. Would love to visit when the rhododendrons are in flower.

After a trip on the Ravenglass - Eskdale railway we decided to do all of the little walks in the area. We visited the little church an did the circular trip up to the waterfall.

We (family of 4 with boys 8 and 10) enjoyed our ‘hike’ through the woodland walk which eventually crosses 3 wooden bridges and reaches final rock path to see the falls and water pool.

Although it was cold in the rain it is the ideal time to see the waterfall in full force. The walk there is fairly gentle uphill. Although slippery in places it didn’t feel dangerous. Good for all the family
