A superb, tranquil experience. Splendid, ancient building, beautifully restored. Great welcome from the volunteer by the entrance. A must visit when visiting the pretty village of Cartmel.

So much history to take in and an incredible building to see and absorb the atmosphere. Made so much better by an extremely well informed gentleman on the premises who kept us very well informed.

Excellent food..... homemade beef and ale pie was to die for. Customer service was excellent. Taking my mum and auntie out for the day next week and plan to call in and treat them before we drive back to Liverpool.

Having been before we knew what to expect. It was worth a second visit. Afterwards we went round Cartmel itself and can recommend their famous sticky toffee pudding.I had cream with mine and my wife had ice cream.
