Decided to drive round to Ennerdale to escape the Chaos of Keswick / Borrowdale whilst camping at Braithwaite. Took about half an hour to the car park at the Lake edge. Did circular walk 6.5.miles and went up on the right hand side and back...More

Lovely place to spend time beside the lake or to walk around. Access from the lake to the fells for walking and back in Ennerdale bridge there are cafes and pubs for meals.

Parked up at the end of a narrow long country lane at Bowness Knott. The parking was free !! Had a fantastic walk. The scenery here is delightful and traffic free after the car park.

Fabulous walk around the Lake, with or without a dog. Part of the Coast to Coast walk and good for cycling.

Good walk with great views. Little bit of scrambling involved, which was interesting when you have 2nr gun dogs :) Weather did us proud.

We walked around the whole lake which took us nearly 5 hours. The path is fairly flat but it is very rocky so be sure to take a good pair of walking shoes. There was only really one tricky part which involved some minor scrambling...More

The lake is a short distance from Ennerdale Bridge and well signposted. There is a gravel car park which at the height of the season will fill up quickly. The lake is a five minute walk away past the ongoing works which are clearly explained...More
