Superb formal gardens to wander around and then narrow pathways down steep woodland down to the riverside walk - this place has it all! A lovely cafe here as well with a good choice of foods.

As with many NT properties this place is well organised and well staffed. Welcoming faces throughout, from the gate where our cards were scanned through to cafe staff and volunteers. We took the house tour, which was very informative, the volunteer presenting it clearly knew...More

Got to visit Cliveden as part of a work activity. Beautiful weather meant the grounds were in their full glory, being exceptionally well maintained. We made it down to the river and back up. We also found the war cemetery which is peaceful and sobering....More

Went to the gardens today as I have seen them in magazines. I parked in the woodland so I could walk the dog first which was easy to find. They gave me a dog walking map which showed where we could take him which was...More

This place looks great but is an exclusive hotel, so we were not allowed in. Very confusing as to where we were and were not allowed to go and treated like lower class riff raff by hotel staff who assumed that we were trying to...More

One of the most stunning National Trust places I've visited. Doing little research before we went we hadn't realised how long we'd be there. We could have spent much longer there if we didn't have to start the long journey home. Can't wait to visit...More

Had a lovely walk around the gardens today after lunch at The Astor Grill. Now that the renovations at the back of the house are complete and the scaffolding has been removed, we appreciated the building in all its glory. Beautifully maintained gardens and the...More

The gardens are worth seeing, and it's worth taking the time to stroll around the whole site. My friend and I were there on a day when they were changing the bedding displays, so lots of gardeners on view and not so many flowers -...More

I am not aware of any cycle routes. The estate does not lend itself to cycling, more walking and there are some beautiful options. Through the woods or next to the Thames.
