We stumbled upon the gardens whilst visiting Kew Little Pigs down the road - what a gorgeous spot! Beautifully planted and maintained this is a lovely small garden that’s worth popping in for half an hour to walk around. There’s a small river at the back as well. Do try out The Grocer across the road - lovely place to grab a coffee and cake from which you can sit and enjoy in the garden.

These gardens keep bringing us back to Amersham and the summer concerts are wonderful. More than just gardens with some brilliant sculptures.

The memorial gardens is the flagship, the centrepiece, of Amersham in Bloom that was the winner of BRITAIN IN BLOOM 2022.
The central garden in the old town is beautifully maintained and full of interest. Over time the town council staff and bloomer volunteers add gorgeous displays to the gardens each year. New features added ensure that the gardens always have some new to see.
As well as looking beautiful the gardens are also an environmental and well being haven. The beds include bee-friendly pollinator plantings and habit for wildlife.
It is lovely peaceful garden enjoyed by many who walk around or simply sit and take it in.
During the summer months the gardens host band concerts which are enjoyed by hundreds.

We went to the memorial gardens and had a walk around. The gardens are beautiful and have model aeroplanes which are huge for models but not big enough to climb into as they could get damaged.
In the middle there is a large model warship which is about 30ft long and it’s very realistic with flowers growing out of the machine guns.
Some areas are planted in different themes like the water tower and the moon with water running down the sides.
There are benches to sit on and eat some pies and pickled onions and perhaps have a nip of brandy from a hip flask if it’s a bit chilly. We didn’t have brandy or pies but did get an ice cream 99 from a van parked nearby and walked around listening to some men play trumpets and singing Pirate songs.

What a lovely little park, just off the high street in Old Amersham. Beautifully looked after and a great place to sit and have a drink or a picnic. This was not possible on the day we visited as there was a brass band recital in progress which was being enjoyed by crowds of people. We will visit again on a quieter day so we can fully appreciate this pretty place.

Right on the high street. Lots to see and maintained. Plenty of character. Kinks to St Marys and the Chiltern walks

This was a lovely, peaceful spot and so well maintained. There was a very peceful atmosphere away from the bustle of the main road.
