Stopped at one store, which was lovely. But the shops didn’t resemble Avonlea, which is what I expected. Church was made into restaurant, which I didn’t like. Cavendish beach festival was going on as well, which made parking confusing and difficult.

When this place opened years ago, it used to charge admission. Once inside the village, you would see people dressed in period costumes putting on little plays and singing/playing musical instruments. With the dropping of the admission fee in the last few years, the actors...More

We went during a weekend end of June. Only 2-3 stores were opened. The entire area was deserted. Nothing on their website or at the entrance indicates shops aren't opened. Very disappointed.

I arrived shortly before Canada Day, so not all of the shops and eateries were open, but I still enjoyed the scenery and some ice cream!

We went to the village after going to visit Green Gables. We were quite impressed with the set up and layout of the village but very disappointed that all but 2 shops were closed, no eateries or even washrooms open. The date for opening needs...More
