Cook like a Venetian
Oct 2019 • Couples
Had an amazing time this afternoon cooking with Monica and Arianna. Arianna invited us into her home for the day for a cooking lesson and drinks. The day started at 9 where Monica picked us up and we drove to the countryside to the house. We had wine and cheese while we prepped and cooked. We made fresh bread, stuffed tomatoes, squash risotto, carrots, tomatoes and a pie. We were there from about 9-3 and it was absolutely lovely a 4 course meal and 4 bottles of wine. At the end of the tour they even sent us off with the bottles of wine from the day that we hadn’t finished.

Amazing Time!
Oct 2017 • Couples
My wife and I had the pleasure of taking a cooking class with Monica and Arianna in early October on our visit to Venice. We had a fantastic experience Monica and Arianna were wonderful teachers and the knowledge they possess about food in the region made the experience even more amazing. We took the class with another couple and prepared shrimp wrapped in pancetta, salt roasted sea bream and authentic tiramisu all made by the 4 of us. Monica also prepared a Venetian liver dish as a special request for the other couple that was attending. I highly recommend taking a class or a tour with Monica & Arianna it is fun, a wonderful learning experience and a great value provided by two knowledgeable and professional women. We cannot wait until our next visit to Venice to take another class!

Fun Evening Out
Oct 2017 • Friends
My husband and I were staying in Venice for a week with two friends. Early in our stay we booked the Cicchetti tour with Monica. It was a fun, yummy evening. We've been to Venice many times, but Monica took us to places we didn't know about in less touristy neighborhoods. We first stopped for what she called "real" gelato as opposed to many that are made with powders, then on to the Kosher bakery in the Jewish Ghetto for very tasty pastries. Then we visited two Cicchetti bars, each specializing in different foods. Monica ordered for us which made things very easy and interesting. She had us try Venetian wines which we enjoyed. She is charming and very knowledgeable about local food and wine. She was also great about keeping the group together (there were 7 of us all together) and making us all feel included. The evening was a big success.

Highlight of our Trip!
Apr 2017 • Friends
My friend and I took a cooking class with Monica and Ariana last month. This was one of several highlights of our trip! We enjoyed everything!! From our colorful and humorous trip to the Rialto Market to choose our fish and our vegetables, to the informative and fun kitchen experience, to our reward of dining in a spectacular dining room on lovely handcrafted Murano glass dishes, and goblets (filled with wine of course!!) We left with printed recipes of all we had done so we could make these things again at home. Though, I don't think it will taste as good at home as it did in the palazzo!! Another of our highlights was the Cake and Chocolate tour which we also did with Monica, if you have the opportunity, it's another fabulous experience. Thanks again Monica and Ariana for making our Venice trip so special!!

Completely wonderful
Dec 2016 • Couples
We did the cicchetti tour with Monica yesterday and had a completely wonderful time. With a small group of just six in total, we sampled some superb wines, all from the Veneto region (many of which I'd never heard of before), and tried a number of cicchetti, little bites. Monica was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and wine, as well as about the beautiful city neighbourhoods through which we were walking. The tiramisu and Sgroppino we finished off with capped a really lovely evening, one that I would heartily recommend to anyone visiting Venice.

Cooking Class and Food Tours are truly the Best, and I'll be back again
Nov 2015 • Solo
I'm in Venice a lot and have taken two cooking classes with Monica and Arianna, one in the Summer and another in the Fall. I've also taken Monica's cicchetti tour and pastry tour. I would highly recommend all of them. Both cooking classes I took were at the location in Mira. Monica met the group at the predetermined place on time and we went with her to pick up produce and fish before arriving at the class location to cook with both her and Arianna. Each time, we made different dishes that were seasonal, pasta by hand one time, risotto another, a great fish dish, delicious starters and sides, and one of the best tiramisu I've ever had. The classes are very fun but also educational. I learned some of Monica's & Arianna's tips and tricks that have been handed down from generations of Venetian mammas. The food tours are just as great and truly NOT TO MISS. Seriously, do not make a cicchetti crawl on your own. Instead take one with Monica. It is quite a value for what you get and there is in no way you will have the local, fun and authentic experience that you would with Monica. She is outgoing, extremely knowledgeable about both the food and wine of the region, bubbly and knows almost everyone in Venice.

A Nice Experience.
Dec 2014 • Friends
My family spent the day with Monica and Arianna to learn about Venetian food and culture. We were picked up at the Tronchetto car park and driven first to the market, and then to Arianna's home to begin cooking. They had appetizers ready for us upon arrival. Monica is very outgoing and fun, and is easy to be with. We made traditional family venetian dishes that were very good. We learned a few food prep techniques that we hadn't seen before. The concept of working in Arianna's home seemed interesting, but the space was a little cramped, and we found ourselves in the way of the cooks sometimes. As a group of 5, we weren't as involved in the cooking as we hoped. They are going to start to utilize vacant apartment spaces in Venice occasionally for their class, and that might ease some of the space issues, and provide a space for the customers to sit during the down time. We had a good day, experienced something other than just "touristy" Venice, and enjoyed the company of Monica and Arianna. Our overall group rating was average.

Amazing focaccia
Sep 2014 • Friends
Traveled to Venice with friends and found this cooking opportunity via an Internet search. We had a very good time and got some great advice on making pie crusts without the frustration. I had the best focaccia EVER! Actually I think it is better than any fresh bread I've ever eaten...it was amazing! I'm not a big sweet person so when I say that I really liked the ricotta and raisin pie, it is really good! The only negative of the day is that they need to invest in good knives for all the participants. The ones they provided were horrible for chopping vegetables. Overall it was a fun day and came away with tasting the best focaccia!

Walking Food Tour of Venice
Sep 2014 • Solo
I recently did this tour on a short visit to Venice. Monica was an enthusiastic guide, who took us to her local cafes where we sampled delicious food. This tour was a fantastic opportunity to see and taste more of the real Venice.
