All Saints’ Tudeley is the only church in the world* to have all its twelve windows decorated by the great Russian artist Marc Chagall. The east window at Tudeley is a memorial tribute to Sarah d'Avigdor-Goldsmid who died aged just 21 in a sailing accident off Rye. Sarah was the daughter of Sir Henry and Lady d'Avigdor-Goldsmid; the family then lived at the fine Jacobean house Somerhill which is situated nearby.

Tucked away, and not very well sign-posted, this delightful parish church is the only one in England with all the stained glass windows designed by Marc Chagall. The story behind the commission is tragic and poignant. Free car park, excellent information sheets and guide books...More

This church is out of the way, but nevertheless well worth a visit, the windows by Marc Chagall are truly inspiring and all the more beautiful in the setting of this small country church. The story behind their creation is equally moving, and it is...More

We really enjoyed our visit to this lovely, peaceful church. The website warns you when weddings or funerals or other events are held so you can make sure to time your visit when it's possible to freely go inside. In addition to the unmissable stained...More

I've seen a lot of stained glass around the world. But walking into this church and seeing the vivid colors is really amazing. Vivid blues and bright yellows. Must be seen.

See the Story of Christ by Marc Chagall very beautiful. Last window installed in 1985, see a bit of art history as it lives as it was intended in situ and completely relevant to its surroundings. Ce Est Magnafique

This is a must see. The stained glass windows by Marc Chagall (one of his very last works) are amazing. The outside of the church offers no clue to the splendour within. I am amazed it is not more widely known.

Buses between Tonbridge and Tudeley run roughly every hour Monday to Friday (route 205). The journey only takes a few minutes. On Saturdays there is a similar timetable but with a couple of two-hours gaps. There is no Sunday... More

If you like art at least an hour. I went twice in a week spending an hour each time. I saw something new the second time in each window. No doubt when I make a third visit I will see something fresh.
