Spent time with wife walking on the pier and it was fun to visit. Hot day cool on the pier. The fishing was great by the results we saw others having. Worth the trip.

25 years ago, Surf City boasted at least 4 additional piers. Now, thanks mostly to Hurricane Fran, piers are rare on Topsail Island. This one is the most accessible, right in downtown Surf City. Enjoy the view from several yards out in the water. Always...More

Its a nice boardwalk. We went fishing for $12 per person (had our own poles) and bought bait for $5.50. You can walk out on the pier for just $1 which is probably worth it. We enjoyed fishing but didn't catch anything. No one was...More

My family loves coming here, fishing is great. The best time to come and fish in my opinion is late summer/early spring. Sept when the water temp gets colder you will kill fish on diamond jigs and gotcha plugs.

The Pier is clean and was a lot of fun for the kids. They really enjoy seeing some of the fish caught while we walked on the pier. They do charge a $1 to walk on the pier. It was well worth the money.

You have to pay $1 per person to go out on this pier and more if you fish. I found it very depressing with down-and-out people joylessly fishing for stray forks and tiny fish.

We visited a stretch nearish the pier. A gravelnparkingmlot with a kids playground a one stall bathroom and an outdoor exposed shower. There was a storm offshore so the waves were rough. But all in all a decent few hours at the beach and only...More
