Great way to go through the local area to the base of the walk to the Kuhstall on an historic tram. The trip from Bad Schandau lasted about 20 mins and ended up near a couple of cafes and a small waterfall.

We took the tram to the starting point of the tracks to “Kuhstall”. We bought a day ticket and did some stops on the way back to Bad Schandau.

This is the traditional way to get to the hiking area around Kuhstall, Affensteine and Thorwalder Waende from Bad Schandau. The tram looks and sounds the same as I remember it and similar ones from the mid 1970s. I am happy that it is still...More

We took the tram on one rainy day - maybe that was a good choice - less people, no stress, quiet and plenty of room inside. We hiked then to the Kuhstall, got something to eat & drink (Prätzel and Bier). Children liked it. FYI,...More

We like to discover the technical extras and the tramway line operated in Bad Schandau is definitely something fine to see and use. The line runs through the valley of the Kirnitzsch river from the town of Bad Schandau up to the Lichtenhain Waterfall, all...More

This transport system has history. Tracks were build in the late 1800’s while the train was first used on 1912. Beautifully kept. The inside is all wood. Children and adults have a great time during the 30 minutes and 8 stops to the waterfall.

Interesting tram ride up a picturesque valley, maintained to high standard, there are a few shops, a waterfall at the end of the line, the present terminus, is where the funds must have run out for construction, as the you find yourself in a tiny...More

Wonderful journey by tram up the Kirnitsch valley. There are hotels and restaurants at the end and it is an excellent jumping off point for walks, especially to the Kuhstall.

Take a 30 minute ride along a winding forest road to the terminus where there are souvenir shops, restaurants and a very underwhelming waterfall. Enjoy the ride, not the destination
