200rmb well spent to get a guide to show you around the musuem. I've been there a couple of times before without a guide, this time was much better and more insightful than going alone.

Nice museum for raining days, quite big with 3 floors to visit. 15 mn taxi from downtown. We were very impressed by the great tangka which is worth the visit but also by the Tibetan traditional medical part.

Definitely a museum worth visiting if you have extra time in Xining. It will possibly takes you about half a day if you just plan to browse through the exhibits. The thanka is really worth seeing and is the most impressive exhibit in the museum....More
