A lovely town and an impressive castle with views that go for miles. Karitena is very easy to reach from anywhere in Arkadia, we drove to here after visiting the Epikurios Apollon and the roads were fantastic to drive on.

The castle is partially accessible due to restoration works but you can still visit it's biggest part. The view over the village and the surrounding areas is amazing!! Snacks, drinks, etc should be bought at the village as there is no kiosk on the top...More

We liked the old fortress of the top of the village. Don't miss the view to the old village surmounted by the new one. At this time, the castle compound is in renovation and partially accessible.
