This is a beautiful spot to drive to and take a walk. The Dam was not running when I went but the walkway has a beautiful view of the mountains.

Early in the mornings, the fog rolls in and out minute-to-minute. It'll conceal the lake and then reveal it again over and over. There's always a cool breeze coming off the water. Great place to walk yourself or walk your dog.

Beautiful views all around. You get to see the great camp grounds in North Carolina as you walk thru the path. The path is an even surface good for walkers, hikers, bikers and strollers. Walk the trail round trip and its about 3 miles.

Great views of Lake Chatuge and surrounding mountains, can't wait to see it in the fall! Walkable on top of the berm, good parking, no picnic tables or restrooms. Well maintained.

Chatuge Dam and Recreation Area has great scenic views to enjoy. We walk the paved walkway along the lake. Also looked at the water going through the gates of the dam. Plan to Walk here often.

We walked across the dam and then the trail along the lake. Easy hike/walk, there are lots of birds in the middle of the dam and the walk is beautiful.
