A "historic" local hunting club, that changed a few owners and seen come renovations. Paid tour through the lodge reveals quite an ordinary interior for a hunting club from that era. The grounds are distinctly non-historical, featuring average-looking lawns and a couple of small soccer...More

We walked the grounds, which were beautiful, and read some of the history. Quite interesting. The mansion was built in the 1920's. This is a short stop unless you plan on touring the house. We decided not to at this time, but may return later.

You have to walk the beautiful Whalehead grounds while visiting the Currituck Lighthouse next door as it provides some outstanding pictures of the water, bridge and the lighthouse rising well above the tree line.

Step inside this historic timepiece a experience how the other half lived...back in the day. The whole Corolla Park is beautiful with lovely landscape and sound views. Be sure to take the guided tour inside the house to learn about the architecture and the family.

We visited the grounds and sat on the back porch but did not take the tour ($) We walked all over the grounds which were beautiful and waterfront. Lots of trees for the kids to climb!

A great place for viewing sunsets and taking photos. There is a small museum and it often offers activities for children during the summer.

During the years 1922-1925, northern industrialist Edward Collings Knight, Jr. built an imposing 21,000 square foot seasonal home where he and his wife could indulge their passion for waterfowl hunting. The former private residence is known today as The Whalehead Club, and it offers visitors...More

It's free to walk the grounds which are beautiful but also worth taking the house tour if time permits. It's educational and fun!

There are fishing piers all along the Outer Banks. We did notice 1 pier near the Whalehead House and the Lighthouse.
