After spotting a bridge on google maps we thought we would go out to Garden Island, However the bridge is a bit tricky to find and there is no public access

Its totally great, the new upgrade to the sea walls means less water on your car during storm events. Remember, its defence access only people !

Mainly used to launch your boat, the back beach may be used for swimming, but mainly for throwing a line in.. There is a lawned area where you can have a BBQ/picnic and the Naval Reserve museum is within close walking distance(maybe 2mins).

Not sure why this is on TA. You cannot access the bridge and there is a huge sign advising no public access so you can’t even get close. Basically, give it a miss.

I have reviewed this previously and not much has changed. I remember this area before the causeway was put in and the cockburn sound used to be full of good quality fish. This immediately changed after the causeway was put in. Don't get me wrong,...More

This bridge requires permission to drive over as it leads to the Garden Island Naval facility. Close in very windy weather.

The causeway was alright the first time I saw it in 2008, but now it just adds 10 minutes to my commute.

You can see the garden island causeway bridge near peron point road but access to the naval base is restricted to authorised persons only and not open to the public. You can get a good view of this bridge from the lookout at Peron Point.

The Garden Island Causway is not open to the public. It is the only way to get to H.M.A.S Stirling which is an Australian Naval Base. It is not a holiday destination but you can take photos of the bridge from the local beaches.
