The boats are frequent and friendly.
They travel slowly and are open top on a nice day it is actually quite a pleasant commute. The gentlemen running the service will help you in and out of the boat if required.

Timetables are published daily and inter-island services are sufficient for all tourist purposes, e.g. Day trip from Tresco to Bryher £5 return) or Tresco to St Mary's (£11 return). Our experience was trouble-free.
A great service-weather allowing! On busy days extra boats will be laid on for everyone to get to their chosen destination. Enjoyed our trip round the Western isles to spot seals and puffins. The boatmen's skills have to be admired.
Look, there's absolutely no other way to move between islands, OK. Not unless you can walk on water or do telekinesis. As a result they can provide their very competent but limited service at very high cost. Like Tresco to Bryher (400 metres?) for £5...More
