These gardens are superb, and so atmospheric in the ruins of the abbey. The collection of South African plants is outstanding and the Valhalla museum is quite unique. I've visited most of the major Cornish gardens over the years, but this is easily one of...More

Go. Can't recommend the island of Tresco or these magnificent gardens highly enough. Probably one of the best days out we have had anywhere in the world, and this comes form a 60+ who has travelled widely for 50 years. The plants were a joy...More

Tresco is beautiful. The beaches are beautiful the island is very well maintained. The kids enjoyed the walking. The pub and the Ruin beach cafe is good and everywhere is accessible on foot and between 20 and 30 min walks on the paths ( not...More

Despite the disappointing weather on the day, we enjoyed a good visit. The gardens are varied, with interesting wildlife and other attractive features. There is a decent cafe, serving traditional dishes and drinks.

The garden exceeded our expectations - amazing plants, and wonderful vistas especially those from Neptune and across the Middle Terrace. Two separate visits were especially rewarding

Stunning gardens, lovely wonder around and although a boat load of us turned up at the same time it didn’t seem busy. Just wondered around at our leisure. Lots of sculptures too. Lovely place.

We were glad we visited Tresco gardens although it is not as interesting as some other gardens on the mainland due to being a little "samey." From the top of the hill there are stunning views through the foliage to the sea and there are...More

The Scillies had their first snow for 30 years last winter and, by and large, Spring is later as a result. Even so, a walk in the Abbey gardens reveals a range of over 10000 varieties of trees , shrubs and plants. It was a...More

I am not sure about any of this as we stayed in St Marys. when you land in St Marys there are plenty of boards up detailing boat trips etc.

We were there in August and learned that we are probably no gardening people. We spent about the same amount of time in the garden as we did at the Valhalla museum.

Hi Oldpigsqueal, The red squirrels tend to stay around the garden but you do sometimes see them near the garden entrance and around the Garden Cafe... Even if you're not a plant fan, the Garden is still well worth a visit... More
