Incredible gardens built to a clear vision. Just a delight to wander around with lots of hidden gems. Cafe great too for a post garden lunch.

The gardens are absolutely stunning. I had seen photos but they didn’t prepare me for the magnificence of the gardens, the diversity, the colours, the sheer abundance of plants you just don’t expect to see in the UK. The gardeners are incredibly knowledgeable and the...More

It's a shame the entrance cost is high. The gardens are beautiful though and lots of places to sit and nibble a packed lunch. The cafe is very expensive. We loved the red squirrels and marveled at the stunning chinese pheasants(?). We probably wouldn't return...More

Having heard about these gardens for many years it was a real pleasure to visit them. Not cheap to get in but given the rarity of some of the plants, and the number of staff working to keep the place clean and tidy, it wouldn't...More

We spent a day on Tresco, which is lovely. The high spot was the Abbey Gardens, which must be one of the great gardens of the world. We went by boat from St Mary's, where we were staying and were delivered safely to the Island....More

One of us had the tasteless soup - the other a Cornish pasty or should I say grissel and fat pasty. Staff pretty disinterested - reminded me of the M1 service stations in the 60s

Well, having walked a mile or so to the gardens and circling around the walls to find the entrance, I was expecting great things. Family have told me before my visit that the gardens are a real highlight and should not be missed when on...More

I went there on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed looking at the squirrels, the figureheads from shipwrecks, the plants from allover the world, the roman altar and the various sculptures.

I went with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the Valhalla collection. The gardens had great atmosphere were well laid out but not pretentious. Great.

I am not sure about any of this as we stayed in St Marys. when you land in St Marys there are plenty of boards up detailing boat trips etc.

We were there in August and learned that we are probably no gardening people. We spent about the same amount of time in the garden as we did at the Valhalla museum.
