A picturesque racetrack
Jul 2021 • Couples
If there is a more picturesque racetrack please tell me where as I want to visit it. The setting is beautiful with great views of the surrounding countryside. The racing is exciting with lots of places for drivers to pass one another, the way racing should be. There are lots of places to watch the racing and you can get close with great views and the races can be exciting. There is a campground on site and lots of places to park it is well worth a visit whether you are a racing fan or not.

Just went for the SCCA races.
Jun 2021
I've been coming to the track with my 3 boys since they were little and now they are grown up. My middle son lives in Ithaca now and my wife and I were visiting there over fathers day. My youngest son drove up for the weekend with his boat to surprise me. So the two boys took me on fathers day to the SCCA races. We like the smaller races so you can drive around to different locations on the track. It was great, my youngest son got to sit in 4 race cars. You can't do that during the big races. The vintage and historic are our favorites. They have made a lot of improvements over the years and it's a great place to be if you are into car racing.

Driving the Glen is a must - if the person in front of you knows how to drive
Jun 2021
Was really looking forward to "Driving the Glen". Been a racing and driving enthusiast my whole life, and saw this as a chance to get an idea of how real racers do it. Called in the morning and was told to arrive at 11:15 for 12:00 run. Got there at exactly 11:15 and after signing the required paperwork and paying the $30 fee, I went and got my car in line. I was 13th out of the 20 cars. I did a quick scope of cars in front of me and some pickups and SUV's and two cars in front of me was a newer Ford Mustang Cobra. Yeah, the one with 600 horsepower! Well, we finally get led onto the track and less than halfway thru our first lap, the pace car and front half of the pack are nowhere to be seen. Why? Mr. Ford Cobra was literally driving 30 mph, braking at EVERYTHING and totally ruined the experience for 9 of us because this selfish, pathetic jerk used his 3 laps for a lolly-gagging Sunday afternoon drive. The driver in front of me kept beeping at him to get moving, but nope! Lesson learned. IF, and big IF I ever do it again, I'll get there early enough to be first in line.

Driving the Glen is a must
Aug 2020 • Couples
As a kid I watched Formula 1 on wide world of sports. So to drive the same course that Stewart, Andretti and Fitipaldi drove along with nascar legends was great.

Yes they take your temp. and fill out forms but in a COVID world what does one expect. One can go 60 and no passing pace car. Even driving 60 one can feel the tires around the sharp turns. 3 laps and it’s something one has to experience

Favorite Track

I raced here many times in mid-90's. SCCA and IMSA. Also taught performance driving/racing here. My favorite track of all.

A different kind of experience
Aug 2020
Almost a must if and when you are in Watkins Glen. It’s $30 per car, with well organized screening to ensure safety before you enter the grounds. Arrive early. After this experience, you will realize that driving on race tracks is not as easy as it appears on your TV screen. Go for it.

Don’t waste your time
Jul 2020 • Family
Because we are in the time of COVID, I called a couple weeks before to see what was available at the facility. I was told to show up a little early to sign waivers, and do temp checks (which we did). Then we would be allowed drive 3 laps behind the pace car and take pics at the finish line. I thought great...the pics would be worth it. I had team racing shirts made up for the family. After the registration process we waited at the gate for a 12pm start time. We waited there till almost 12:40...with 3 kids getting very restless. The guy in the security truck comes and tells us we’ll be doing the “short track” uuuhhh...OK, fine. So we do out 3 laps around the short track and the same security truck (that was the pace car by the way) pulls over to an exit and says have a nice day. What? We asked to take pics by the finish line, he said that can’t happen because of COVID? Really? Why bother taking our temps if we can’t get out of the car. Really appreciate waiting 40 minutes for an 8 min car ride to be sent home with no pics. Don’t waste your time or money-especially if you’re stuck behind a slow moving pick up.

Enjoyed driving the Glen
Jul 2020
It's a rare treat to actually drive a race course, even in a standard powered Subaru. The three laps come and go very quickly, but still about three times longer then it would take in a formula one car. Well worth the experience.

Great track experience!

Track staff was friendly and professional. Track and facilities are top notch! Bathrooms were clean, plenty of trash cans in all areas and hand sanitizer in frequently traveled areas.
