Journey in dug out canoes with seats ensuring a degree of comfort. Peaceful and atmospheric in the morning mist with sightings of people travelling to market, crane and otter.

I had never been in a dugout canoe before, but this was very enjoyable. I felt perfectly safe at all times, but a little sorry for the canoe man who paddled stoically for two and a half hours into a strong head wind.

Fabulous two and a half hour journey in a hand made dugout canoe. Amazing scenery.Would definitely recommend this journey as part of your itinerary.

We hiked through the rural subsistence farmlands from Rubuguri Junction to Lake Mutanda and enjoyed a relaxed paddle across the lake in dugout canoes, followed by a short walk up the hill into Kisoro.
