Liked seeing the baboons and the blue monkeys at lots of hippos. Great waterfowl viewing also near the marsh. Different ecosystem presented which makes it interesting.

Lots of water and green vegetation, with abundant wildlife. We were especially lucky spotting hippos and a wide variety of birds.

You must go here in a 4x4 given the drives through the marshes. So worth it! Saw families of hippos, many species of bird and baboons.

A little underwhelming as was last day of our safari and we'd been in the Serengetti but we saw what we wanted. Roads around the park are good and it wasn't very busy.

We visited Lake Manyara in September 2018 for 1 day, following 2 days at Serengeti and 1 day at Ngorongoro Crater. In hindsight, I would have skipped this place in favour of an extra day at Serengeti or would have visited Tarangire instead. While it...More

Lake Manyara National Park is about a 2 hour drive from Arusha. Paved roads will take you up to the front gate, thereafter it's dirt tracks. A truly awe inspiring park of outstanding natural beauty. This is a really good park to visit for the...More

I really can't say When we went it was January. So whether or not the road is open now I do not know. The Lake is worth the visit. And you will see lots of animals. Have fun !
