We spent a half day visiting on our way to the Serengeti. A great introduction to the parks with a lot of wildlife. We were thrilled to come across a family of elephants crossing the main road just as we entered the park!

This place, as the name suggests, is based around Lake Manyara. The terrain is lake, flat waterside plain & rainforest. We'd never safaried in a similar place & it was great to see such a different environment. We did 4 drives over 2 days &...More

This is a busy park with much water and plenty of birds and hippos - other mammals were not very common.

If you’ve been to Tarangire and Serengeti, you perhaps expect the Manyara National Park to be like them and feel disappointed that you get to see relatively little compared to grasslands. This is partly a dense rainforest, and some of the animals hide themselves well....More

We visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Central Serengeti and the gorgeous Ngorongoro crater. We had an innumerable number of amazing sightings, with some of the highlights being...More

It wasn't bad at all, we could see many animals, but all the animals that we saw here were very difficult to spot, and in the other parks we could easily see all the animals we saw in Lake Manyara. If you can go to...More

We had our first game drive to Lake Manyara and it was a very different experience than Ngorongoro or Tarangire in the region. You can spot a lot of different animals within the park and especially around the lake. I would recommend doing Lake Manyara...More

Ideal introduction to how many different animals you can see in one day! Lake Manyara is one of the smallest national parks, but you are almost guaranteed to be delighted with so many "first sightings". First Hornbill, first baboon, first monkeys, first ELEPHANT! the list...More

I really can't say When we went it was January. So whether or not the road is open now I do not know. The Lake is worth the visit. And you will see lots of animals. Have fun !
