We really enjoyed our visit, the place is more comfortable especially for kids. They had fun and its good for pictures.
The toilets were dirty but as you know a place with lot of people always get messy sometimes.
Decent place for chill and braai

its a good decent place to visit. for your day of braai and family chill, relax. the kids get to play as it is open. yet when night starts to fall need to leave the place is a bit scary then, or a bit rough should I say. want to have an outdoor party please clean up afterward.

Excellent picnic area can get extremely busy and rowdy at times. Best times to visit is during the afternoons and watch the sunset of the water.

Since my last review, the Germiston Lake grounds (better known as Victoria Lake) underwent a massive multi-million rand upgrade. It is thus necessary for me to change my ratings and comments on the lake. It has now become a popular spot for wedding photographs with the erection of a beautiful fountain at the old entrance to the lake grounds. Walkways in the park make access to the much needed maintenance of the gardens easier; the Victorian styled lapa are a big attraction to weekend and public holiday visitors to the lake. The construction of a parking area outside of the lake grounds is a big plus point. The grounds are now properly maintained and patrolled and is safe to visit. Hopefully the local authority will keep maintaining the grounds to attract visitors from all over Gauteng.

A pleasant place to watch a sunset or have a picnic with friends and family. In the past, the lake has hosted wonderful jazz events but now seems to have been less utilised. Like so many of our public facilities, one would long for it to be used more and to be kept up more.

Germiston Lake is one of the most visited picnic spots around Ekurhuleni. It is visited by locals and people from surrounding towns and Townships and provides a chance to meet new friends and mingle with the locals. Centrally located and easy to access from major routes and highways. Located within a Precinct comprising of the Rand Airport, Aviation Museum,Germiston Golf Course, and Germiston Lapa, this attraction completes the Precinct.
Ideal place for group outings with family and friends. It has braai/barbeque facilities, covered sitting areas for groups, parking area, views of the lake, separate entrance for weddings' photo opportunities, security and much more. Operating hours are from morning until 19h00 hours when the place is then closed.
The Lake was recently revamped and it looks beautiful and is maintained appropriately. Famous for weekend outings.

I was there last weekend. Hundreds of people and 8 stinking portaloos that were full up to the top with faeces and flies buzzing around. This is really unacceptable as I had to leave to go toilet elsewhere.

Not much crowd but a cool water lake surrounded by greener lush grass and platforms for fishers. Good place in Germiston near Rand Airport area and school. Liked as a place to sit only nothing as tourist place to visit.
