I would say it is nice to walk there on a non busy day when everyone is in school. Don’t go there on saturdays or Friday afternoons especially in the summer. Extremely crowded.

The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a quiet little gem tucked away just across the railroad tracks. It is a peaceful, beautiful place to go for a walk or observe birds. There is a very nicely done nature center, staffed by friendly, knowledgeable volunteers as well...More

Serenity in nature with wonderful walking/running paths. There is a main house with exhibits and a few animals to check out. There are rescued animals outside in the natural habitat as well

We have been visiting QWR for years and love walking its beautiful paths. Don't forget to save time to visit the animals who have been rescued and now reside at the refuge. My favorite is the bald eagle.

The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a hidden gem! On our last visit we saw a magnificent rough legged hawk close enough to view without binoculars. The trails are easy to walk and the views are beautiful. There is a pond with swans, fish, and turtles...More
