The cliffs were cool, but not worth it to drive too far out of your way to see. Parking was very difficult, and the town had a bit of a Coney Island feel.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 June 2023

The pebble beach was fun for this kids but the waves a little high on this July day, be mindful of the break. We spend the whole day there - many tourists but great atmosphere and if you are patient, finally found parking too!Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 July 2023
- Paul DKingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom62 contributionsCoastal DelightsI have had a few trips over the last couple of years in many types of weather. The views are breathtaking and the exercise and fresh air are plentiful. Nice boutiques and quality local produce and gifts. None much of the tacky tat here. Food is varied and of good quality, seafood is a must and tasty, I recommend the Moules Normandie, avec frites.Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 25 October 2023

Two plaques on either side of boardwalk where Monet painted both sides of the beautiful cliffs, very small town easily walkable.

Quite significant rock bridges and formations carved by the sea and so loved by Monet, these certainty attract the crowds.
Still unsure how buses navigate those tiny streets.

Must-visit place in France! It takes time to arrive but it’s worth the trip. Make sure u wear comfortable shoes and clothes, it’s mostly windy there.

We visited Etretat in early October and it felt like it was fairly empty but take an umbrella because there is a risk of rain. The beach and cliffs are beautiful and there are some exhibits about the Atlantic Wall and some descriptions about the inspiration and subjects that Claude Monet had from Etretat. Nice hike up to the top of the cliffs.

We visited in Etretat in late September, on a cloudy, rainy weekday. It was still lovely to walk through the main street and peek into the stores on the way to the beach and the chalk cliffs. The view of the cliffs on both sides is stunning. Despite the stormy seas, we walked along the beach and took some amazing pictures, then found a great restaurant and had a huge pot of mussels.

We planned this trip as a long drive with two of my friends and my family on a weekend. It was a really long drive for my friend but as he enjoys his driving, it didn't bother him much. There are a lot of tolls when you are driving in France especially in the Normandy region.
The elephant trunk looking cliff is really nearby and could not be missed l. We enjoyed our lunch there at the top with great sun and great view overlooking the sea.
