A strenuous climb with many steps but well worth the effort. The views from the ramparts are stunning, up and down the Rhone valley, and over the mediaeval town. The small museum is also well worth visiting. Helpful hint- look for the 2000 year old...More

If you find yourself in Beaucaire why not visit the Chateau ? Interesting wreck of a place. Not a French highlight as Beaucaire is more off the beaten track.

This is a beautiful ruin, with a remarkable history, and a great view, in a lovely old quarter with remarkable stone mansions. There's an archaeology museum on the site. Unlike another reviewer, I like that you have to use your brain a bit to find...More

We stopped in Beaucaire on the way back to the airport. We parked and walked down the side of the Sete canal towards the town and the castle. There was dog mess everywhere which literally meant not being able to look up at the buildings...More
