Nothing to miss

An average place. Most trees are planted. Guide wasn’t very knowledgeable. A good walk. Colobus monkeys are interesting.
The mangroves were nice to walk through.
Maximum 1 and half hour tour.

Very unprofessional guides
Aug 2021
Jozani forest as a place is an amazing and very unique area.
Unfortunately all of their guides are horrible, with very poor knowledge, talking about tips only.
They are not even able to answer basic questions about forests, the same as about monkeys.

What I learned is " these monkeys like to touch and kiss people and like to eat chocolate"
shame on you guys.

This was really horrible experience cost only by unprofessional guides ( i have been there several times last 2 month)

It is really a pity, as I mentioned, the place and animals are amazing there but spending 40 minutes with a guide who "doesn't know" or telling really liars is a waste of money and time.

Wonderful Wildlife
Jul 2021
We visited all three parts of the park. The dry forest was amazing. We saw the Sykes Monkeys as well as the Zanzibar Red Colobus. You are supposed to stay at least 3m from the colobus but that is difficult as they walk right by you! Great photo ops.

The mangrove section has a nice boardwalk. The mangroves are beautiful.

The swamp forest could use some upkeep on the trails but it is beautiful nonetheless. You really need a guide for this part of the forest to understand the ecology of the area.

Interact with the Nature

If you want to feel alive inside and interact with nature, you need to walk through Jozani forest. This is the only place where you can find the red monkeys though they were sleeping when we passed by them , lool ! Lovely place !

Colobus and Amazing Nature
May 2021
If you are looking for an amazing experience where you can interact with nature then Jozani is the place you need to go. From the majestic mangrove trees to the massive forest, Jozani is a freak of nature. The red colobus Monkeys at Jozani are wonderful and friendly as well. I will forever cherish the moments at Jozani Park. I thank Babli, our driver for recommending and organizing my visit to this amazing place. You can reach him through his WhatsApp on +255 756983 368

Haji showed us around Jozani forest. It was lovely seeing the monkeys! Good tour overall. Would recommend seeing him as he offers bigger trips to mainland as well.

Monkeys
Jun 2021 • Couples
The only park in Zanzibar.we did the walking tour from our covid test .the forest is very big with many monkeys of different colours but very friendly.it was very lovely seeing them jumping all corners of the forest .the entrance fees was 12$ each which was ok for us .we also had enough time to visit the mangrooves, our guide recommended by star was very wise and knowledgeable.if you have time from paje to stone town you can stop for two hours for the monkeys

Nice but nothing special
Apr 2021 • Friends
Entrance fee is 25,000 shillings and FYI they only accept cash. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and great at explaining things but the experience wasn’t special at all. Make sure you go to the toilet before visiting the site as the toilets here aren’t pleasant. They have a restaurant but it doesn’t look appealing at all. There is A LOT of walking involved so wear comfy footwear!!! We learnt about the forest and saw the black and red monkeys. It was nice to see them roam around freely from afar - they didn’t get close to us. We also looked at the mangroves which was interesting. Overall, would only recommend if you want something to do for a few hours to kill time but don’t expect too much.
