Amazing Day with great weather @ West Coast National Park
Sep 2021 • Business
The beauty in flower season inside West Coast National Park was amazing especially a sunny day was awesome!
At entrance gates however staff was very unfriendly without a greeting and a welcome and somehow bothered them that we had to do 2 separate payments having foreigners with me was an embarrassing situation! We found this unreasonable and disturbing with no effort from their side at all.
It's obvious they need some friendly professional training towards visitors and traveller's from abroad who come with high expectations of good service to South Africa. Enjoying a day's outing and more adds to the experience of having a good time.
Our sadness at entrance gates then became 👌 a smiling face day with such beautiful natural surroundings of the coast and Spring flowers 💐 😍 to enjoy thoroughly throughout 😀 the Day!
A worthwhile visit and hope next time to have a better friendly staff at Entrance gates of West Coast National Park! Thank you 😊 💓

This will blow your mind
Sep 2021
The best wild flower season in more than two dozen years has attracted more visitors than ever, it seems, and when you go, you can see why. A special show.

Manage your expectations
Jan 2021
We have visited the park many times in all seasons and the experience is totally different depending the season and the weather. Our latest visit was late January 2021.

After the winter rains it is a place of beauty with an abundance of wild flowers, wildlife and birdlife. After the dry summer the landscape can be harsh and dry. The scenery of the rough Atlantic ocean and coast and the Langebaan lagoon is, however, always something special.

In short you can visit any time if do you appreciate nature in all its guises. If you only appreciate beautiful wildflowers, pick your time of visit carefully after the winter rains.

We will visit again and again.

Drive to all the lookout points
Dec 2020 • Family
Take your time, enter the park early. Not too expensive. Drive slowly and be careful of tortoises... Unfortunately we did not see a lot of animals on our visit, but maybe the noise of cars irritated them as the roads were quite busy.

Beautiful flower display
Sep 2020
We visited the West Coast National Park on Friday 18 September 2020. It was truly an amazing experience. The Namaqua Daisies and the other flowers were in full bloom. The views of the ocean were also absolutely stunning. It is advisable to drive in a 4x4 as some parts of the road inside the park are not tarred. The drive inside the park was serene and very tranquil. We put our feet in the ocean, but it was freezing cold, so we were not able to swim. We brought our own lunch and drinks and had a picnic lunch. There are some seats available to facilitate a picnic. We took some stunning pictures of the landscape and the ocean. We spotted some zebras but there was not a lot of wildlife out at the time of our visit. On the whole visiting, this National Park was a very worthwhile experience and I would recommend it. I would also advise that you arrive early as it can get quite full.

Pristine environment with beautiful views and lots of activities
Nov 2020 • Couples
This was my first visit to Langebaan and o was keen to explore the area as see the local . What I didn’t know is that the entire lagoon is enclosed within the West Coast National Park which ensures that it is pristine and unspoiled.
There are lots of activities available including hiking, mountain biking, swimming and wonderful bird hides. We also crossed over to the Atlantic Ocean side of the park with its magnificent sea and wild beaches. A great sag out.

WEST COAST NATIONAL PARK ACCOMMODATION IS A DISGRACE
Nov 2020
We booked to stay at Joanne's B cottage and paid nearly R2000 for a unit that wasn't worth R500! Actually, if they paid me, I wouldn't go back there. Whilst the view is great, if you don't have relaxing chairs to sit in to look at it what good is it? you can only sit on a hard bench for so long... moreover they have made no effort to design the cottage with windbreaks - bearing in mind wind is a regular affair on that bit of coast. Our barbecue fire nearly blew away and in the end we had to sit around the corner in the carport, tucked behind our car, to get any relief from the wind. But worst was to come.
On entering the bedroom we discovered huge blobs of mould growing on the ceiling above the main bed. Moreover the solar panels had given up the ghost and there was no electricity. There was hair all over the linen and the stove was not working. Cleaning staff did travel through to fix it after we complained, but after they left, the geyser, which had been working earlier, had stopped working and we either had to have a freezing shower or none. The staff are lovely and friendly and helpful but the final product is a disgrace, and we felt their lack of cleanliness poses a COVID risk, after all, if they can't clean up the previous visitors hair from the sheets, how well are they getting rid of invisible viruses?

Best flower season ever
Sep 2020 • Family
It has been tradition with our family to go see the flowers during flower season. 2020 might have been one of the worst years in history. However, it was the best when it come to flowers. We love going to the Postberg section. Please take a bag when you go to the beach. My kids have decided to collect rubbish instead of shells when we go to the beach. We could not believe what we picked up. There was even a syringe and a Japanese water bottle, which goes to show how far litter actually travels. Another thing please do not go stand or sit in the middle of the flowers. You land up trampling them and destroying flowers. So many people are so inconsiderate. They are only looking for the perfect shot. Time to stop nagging and say this is a little piece of paradise with so much to do.
