Take this scenic route through the West Coast National Park when travelling south from Langebaan. Great view points, including bird hides with an amazing bird life, Geelbek restaurant with good food is a lovely place to stop.

We had a morning to do some sightseeing and arrived at about 10am on Saturday morning. The West Coast gate was quite busy with two queues to get in. (It is the gate closest to Cape Town). As we are Wild card holders, we did...More

We enjoyed several hours of excellent birding in West Coast National Park; they have several "birds hides" which are essentially shelters where you can sit and enjoy close bird-watching without disturbing the birds. And as we were leaving the park, we saw a herd of...More

It's a beautifully preserved place and it has the best of both worlds. Beautiful lagoon beaches and if you are willing to drive to the end of the road you can braai at the sea. Just be careful for the little tortoises crossing the road.

Second visit and signage much clearer so could get in at top Langebaan gate easily. New hides and lookout points. Wonderful views and lagoon colour is amazing. Sadly two downsides from last visit. The Geelbek visitor centre has been expanded in terms of tables, losing...More

Every year, after the winter rain, there is burst of flowers in this national park. Take a slow drive around the park and enjoy the fields of blooms. The lagoon is popular for its soft white sand on the beach. The kids with love the...More

Such an untouched gem of a park. The look out points and beaches were simply exquisite, even with stormy weather
