Took a taxi ride to Santa Maria from our hotel. Small fishing village which is relatively unspoilt - prior to all Cruise Liners arriving. There are some local shops - mostly selling souveniers, crafts and artwork. Beware of the Senegalese as they pull you into...More

Santa Maria is very small, the pier is the local fish market, be aware you can be hassled to buy goods but it’s not usually the local people but those from other regions.

Great little town enjoy before it gets ruined by tour operators It’s almost untouched but with big company’s now investing I think it will be lost as it is now. Great little restaurants and no pressure anywhere

This is a beautiful beach with a very rickety pier where you can see the locals bring in their fish and prepare at sell it right there. The Lebanese are a pain but not enough to deter from visiting.
