- ltcllm1 contributionAnother Great trip on "Our Yatch"As a New Windsor resident for the past 21 years, my partner and I have taken at least 2 cruises a year, usually more, time permitting. Captain Billynda Baker and her wonderful crew always make us welcome, and if possible, save the chairs in the bow for us - which we love. It is relaxing and fun and we meet many people and share our love for our little portion of the beautiful Hudson Valley.area.Visited October 2023Written 10 October 2023
- ajac0by1 contributionWonderful SceneryOur Seniors had a wonderful and relaxing day on the cruise. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Working with them to get tickets for our large group was easy. The cons of the trip was it was not wheel chair accessible or cane friendly.Visited October 2023Written 13 October 2023
- C SNew York City, New York96 contributionsA pleasant afternoonWe wanted to take a cruise on the Hudson to see fall foliage. This was a good choice for us, since it leaves from Newburgh, NY, which was very convenient. So, here's the pros and cons. Pros: Wonderful crew. They were welcoming and helpful. Good narration. It was informative without being intrusive. There were lots of breaks so we could have conversations in between. Snacks and drinks available on board or bring your own (no alcohol) was very convenient. Space. There was enough space to walk freely and spread out both inside and outside. Price was a good value. Cons: The indoor area was basically clean, but a bit run-down. It could use some updating. Overall, it was worth it and we will likely sail with Pride of the Hudson again.Visited October 2023Written 17 October 2023
- jhw3741Nanuet, New York1 contributionBeautiful Day on the Hudson RiverMy senior club had a good time on The Pride of the Hudson. The staff was friendly and informative. We had a nice day, water was calm and weather was just right to be able to ride outside. The only thing that went wrong was that Mother Nature Prevailed and did not give us the leaf peeking we were looking forward to.Visited October 2023Written 27 October 2023
- mpe19131 contributionHudson Valley river cruiseReserving seats was so easy. We were greeted and seated with a beautiful table so we all sat together on the top deck. We brought snacks & sandwiches to eat. They also have food and beverages you can purchase on board. The cruise went south down to West Point and returned to Newburgh 2 hours later. The trip was narrated and the scenery was gorgeous. The Captain even announced sighting of a bald eagle sitting on a branch at the rivers edge. Treat yourself to an inexpensive, relaxing trip for an afternoon.Visited October 2023Written 27 October 2023
- Gary3 contributionsLovely ride on the Hudson RiverThe two hour sightseeing ride we took on the Pride of the Hudson was very nice. We enjoyed having the choice of the open upper deck or the enclosed main deck. Well maintained ship, friendly crew, nice narration of the sights along the river. Very pleasant way to see the river. We saw several bald eagles during the trip.Visited October 2023Written 27 October 2023
- Leib_FelMonroe, New York1 contributionNice Views, Friendly StaffOur experience was great. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to departure, and the deck was already full. Consequently, we had to go down to the first floor, which we didn't mind as the deck was too windy for our 2-month-old baby that day. So, keep in mind, if you want to sit on the deck, arrive at least 30 minutes before the departure time. By the way, I would recommend they set different prices for deck/indoor seats, so people don't get disappointed (as we would have been if we had come without our baby). I understand that people might then be upset if the weather is bad and they paid for the upper deck, but every outdoor activity has this challenge.Visited October 2023Written 29 October 2023
- GingerSnapKSafety Harbor, Florida6 contributionsFantastic tour of the Hudson River! I highly recommend it.This was my second trip aboard the Pride of the Hudson. I live in Florida and I travel to the Hudson River Valley every fall to get my taste of autumn. I love the history of the river. I loved seeing Bannerman's Castle from the river and West Point. My only complaint would be I wish the cruise would go down to Bear Mountain and turn around there. I will be back in Oct. 2024.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 7 March 2024
- StevenNew York27 contributionsBeen here several times; will be back againWe have been on the Pride of The Hudson quite a few times over the years. Always a good time. They have a bar which serves soft drinks, bottled beer, a couple of beers on tap, and liquor as well. They have bathroom facilities on board as well for the 2 hour trip. Consider getting there at the start of boarding if you have a strong preference for where you sit. Note that they have their own large parking lot (located in front of the boat) that comes in very handy when there are other events in the area. The crew is very good and helpful. The one downside (in my opinion) is that there is limited shaded areas on the top deck.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2024
- annebargerEast Greenbush, New York1 contributionDay trip on Pride of the HudsonMy daughter and I took a afternoon cruise on the Pride of the Hudson. From the moment we arrived , the crew was pleasant and polite. The crew member saw that we were sprinting to the boat , and she shouted out to us “ take your time do not rush we are waiting for you “ You do not see that kindness too much any more in customer service. She started the cruise with a smile on all Of us !! Also the cruise was narrated wonderfully and the boat and bathroom were cleanVisited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2024

Teens had a good time on the hottest day of the summer. Crew was so sweet, ship was on time, narration was sporadic so it gave everyone quiet time. Adults enjoyed the Fun-on-the-River vodka drink, too. Glad to see the recycling containers for our water bottles, too. Loved the Bald Eagle view!

I took an afternoon two hour sightseeing tour onboard the Pride of The Hudson and while the staff was very nice, and they have their own parking lot which makes parking worry free, the boat was dated and in need of refurbishment. A/C inside wasn't very good and benches in front of the boat were narrow and uncomfortable. That said, the cruise was smooth and it was nice to get some sun while taking in the views along the Hudson. It's tolerable for two hours and the price is fair-just don't expect a 5-star luxury yacht.

I love the Hudson River and I thought I knew a lot about the history of the river, but I learned a lot on our boat ride! We visited thinking that the leaves would be changing (we made our reservation a month out), but the leaves are late to change this year. I appreciated the staff pointing out some of the natural sites, like the pair of bald eagles. It was a great afternoon. Thank you!

I agree with some of the reviews that the boat is in shabby condition, but this is not a large corporate tour with deep pockets. This is a family owned local business that I'm happy to support. The crew were all very friendly and helpful, and had full conversations with many people during the cruise. If the recorded tour seems "rote" you can always ask questions of the crew, and even other passengers. Since it's a smaller boat, you can easily interact with others. I'm a local, and I was able to answer questions and add to some of the narration when asked. The bar and snacks were well stocked, and unlike most tours of this kind you're allowed to bring your own snacks and soft drinks.

Great crew and very pleasant cruise. The cruise begins at Newburgh and heads south to West Point where it turns around. There was some narration, but I would have enjoyed hearing even more of the history of the area. The crew member checking guests in said that they were selling fewer tickets and spacing chairs out further in order to promote distancing during the pandemic. Well that didn't matter because there was a very large group in town for a wedding who were on the cruise and who all crowded onto the top deck to make it standing room only. I felt uncomfortable as groups stood over me talking. It was also diffictult to hear some of the narration due to the noisy guests. If the cruise company required people to actually choose a spot where a seat was available or reminded people to distance, I would have preferred that.

Pride of the Hudson cruise on the Hudson River from Newburgh to West Point was a very nice experience. The boat was clean, restrooms clean, the purchased bag lunch was delicious. The narrated tour was pre recorded and from our vantage point...rear of boat next to very noisy group..was not able to be heard at all. Once we moved forward it was audible and once we went to upper deck was heard the best. It was 100 degrees that day so being outside was very hot, but a slight breeze made it bearable. The views were nice, the river like glass, and the many different types of boats and birds and helicopters and long freight trains were nice to see. It was very relaxing and not too long as to get boring. I suggest buying the lunch and bringing your own beverages. The crew is very helpful and were so kind to a group of senior citizens .

Very enjoyable ride and I saw a lot of history on the trip. Food and drink prices were as actually reasonable and they took great care in making sure food and drink was fresh. Staff was fantastic ! Each and everyone took the time to happily answer questions and point out areas of interest along the way.
The only negative thing I experienced was the poor sound system. The recording was muddled and hard to understand. Couple that with a loud engine and hearing what they said was difficult. Please spend some extra money and update the sound system and recording.
Other than that, I highly recommend the Pride of Hudson to anyone wanting to see the historical Hudson !

We did the afternoon trip in mid-July on a day when the forecast threatened rain, which didn't show up. It was extremely hot on the upper level, but for those of us who didn't mind the sunshine and heat, it was most relaxing and enjoyable. The crew was extremely friendly and helpful. I just recommend that if anyone in your party is sensitive to summer heat, well.... they should get there early to grab a shaded seat.

A group of 5 of us took the 2 hour narrated cruise and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The entire crew was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Many of them took extra time to point out points of interests and even a pair of bald eagles. I am looking forward to doing it again!

Are there any stairs for seniors to tackle? Are the bathrooms easily accessible for seniors?
Written 6 September 2023
If I recall correctly there are some stairs to get to the dock and on the boat. If you want to sit on the 2nd deck area there is a stairwell. Bathrooms are on the main deck/level and that has seating and air conditioning.

Yes. Even some street parking. Just make sure NOT to park in an adjacent lot that is reserved for restaurant customers.

Is it recommended to bring your child of 14 years to the boat ride? Or is it highly recommended for only adults to go.
Written 26 August 2016
This is good for all ages. However they may offer sunset/happy hour cruises which i would not take a 14 yr old on
