It was freezing cold with the Winter winds (bring isolating coats and warm hats) but nevertheless the view is breathtaking and the place is just charming. There is a large parking lot with restrooms and even a nice playground for the kids.

Excellent views of the shore along the way. We like coming in the winter-- very quiet and peaceful. The parking area has a restroom, picnic and small playground. *Gasoline prices on Long Island appear to be cheaper than the mainland-- especially in the Ronkonkoma area....More

This whole area is beautiful, and the lighthouse is just one of the many stops to make along the way. The beach/bay was beautiful. Great beach combing for sure. The weather was cool with intermittent rain, but we forged on! Their bathrooms are a bonus....More

Just so Beautiful and peaceful this time of year! Must go and See ! Be really careful driving to “The Point” lots of Deer on side of Road. Stop by Gurney’s to warm up. Love Montauk in the Winter.

Driving up and seeing Montauk Lighthouse perched up on the hill is breathtaking ! Seeing only by water a few times it was well worth the ride out to see it. There was no charge for parking and a charge to go onto the Lighthouse...More

This place has a incredible view of the ocean you can walk down to the beach or sit in the restaurant with a view if its to cold I have been here before and always visit when in Montauk it never gets old

Our daughter was visiting with her two children so we waited til 4 pm when parking becomes free and explored beach on sound side then walked around to ocean side. Just a magical spot filled with beauty! Also a great place to watch the sunrise...More

Worth the visit. Great views and at the very tip of Long Island. You can climb to the top of the lighthouse if you wish.

Call the resort/.hotel you are staying at. They might offer shuttle service. Many offer bicycles which are fun to use getting around.

The lighthouse is about 5 to 6 miles from the town of montauk. That is quite a long walk.
