Great place for dinner and a show! It's a "Donate what you want" for the musicians and make a reservation for dinner and you'll have your table all ready for you! Great accoustics, great table and chair set ups for dinner/show.... easy flow for servers to move around to serve while the show is going on Looked like there will be a nice size room downstairs and two outdoor patios when the renovations are done. Owners are doing a great job!

We had brunch here yesterday, and what a treat! There was an excellent jazz trio playing-the quality of music was amazing! The meal was delicious and reasonably priced. They only add a 10% surcharge for the music-no cover charge. Quite a bargain! You may make extra donations for the musicians if you like. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere very relaxing. We will definitely be back! We are fortunate to have this venue so close by.

We went on a Saturday night for an 8 pm show. Fantastic old fashioned charm, great seating and sight lines. Arrived at 6, place was empty... by 7:30 the joint was full. We sat at the bar and could see the stage and watched the opening act from the bar.At 8, the host seated us at a table up front.
The only bad thing was the food - I would skip the food next time. It was expensive and very mediocre. Or at most just get a burger.
But the beer was cold, the staf were all friendly, including the owner the music was fantastic. Quick service from a friendly waitress. take a minute to look around and go see the outdoor terraces next to the river.
The Falcon works on a donation basis, there is a box up front and we donated $50 for 2 people which I think was fair based on the quality fo the musicians. This was on top of our bar tab and tips.

Ok, so this kind of place usually gets me all excited. A hidden local gem.(So they say) People rave and I feel like," Ooh I must check it out, its gonna be great!!"...and then--I am disapointed. Heres my rundown. I went for dinner and stayed for a show. The crowd was sparce, but did have a feel of intimacy. So at first I was impressed. The place is in the cute little Village of Marlboro, and situated next to a small waterfall. (sounds good so far, right) This stuff is all part of what pulled me in too. However, this is where my enthusiasm stops. Once seated for dinner, the place was dead, and we knew why once given our dinner menu. Pasta night!! A very simple menu with just a small variety and at a premium cost. I was not impressed by the food! Checking out the regular menu proved to be useless as it was pretty bland as well-- but ok, lets talk wine. The Sangria was terrible I do not recommend!!! The drink choices not good. Waitress told us new chef was changing menu up. Ok so here we are at cute location, intimate feel, bad food and wine, ok service, and what is left?? The music. Our headlining act was an hour late. By this point we were all annoyed and very disapointed and a whole lot emptier in our pocketbooks!! But oh how cute that little waterfall is!! The music scene would be nice if you eat dinner elsewhere, grab drinks beforehand and then show up for the music!!

This place is great for live music! My husband and I went with another couple. The place gets really crowded and service was not that good. We ended up ordering two drinks at a time just to not wait forever. Food was okay but expensive. It really wasn't worth the money they charged. The menu is limited and even though we were one of the first tables to order, they were out of at least 1 item. Drinks are limited too and the 1 drink I ordered wasn't available because they didn't have the proper liquor and/or mix. Again, we were 1 of the first tables to order. Nobody was really there yet except maybe 2 more tables. This place is very good for the arts as they support local artists. Paintings are on display and they change frequently from what we were told. Different musicians play each week and the place gets packed! I would go again but not order food and I would also stick to basic drinks. I'm hoping it was just an off night for service. Our waitress was way overwhelmed but nice. I believe there was only 2 or 3 waitresses for the whole area. Please give them a try. They are supporting our community and local artists. I'll definitely try them again and hopefully have a better time.

My favorite place in the Hudson Valley. Excellent food, good selection of beers, and unbelievable quality entertainment for such an intimate setting.

Love this place! Went there two years in a row for my husband's birthday and the live music is always wonderful and the service great! The bartender was so friendly too and even though they have a regular crowd, they are great about being friendly to the newbies like us, so we felt really comfortable and are looking forward to going back more often!

In Marlboro, NY (the Hudson Valley) is Live at The Falcon, a venue for live music that also serves dinner and has a full bar. We heard blues-man Slam Allen while enjoying craft ales, a burger and a very respectable house-made duck confit sandwich.
We had originally booked 3 nights at a B&B in Hyde Park, NY, in order to visit the FDR home and museum, and to have dinner at the CIA. Shortly before we were to arrive, the proprietress called and very apologetically said that she had overbooked – the first time in 6 years. She had taken the liberty to find an alternate accommodation for us, she said. Since we had waited a little too long (it’s was approaching foliage season and many places were booked) we said, sure, and took the reservation.
Guarino Farms B&B, our alternate accommodations, is a wonderful place to stay. It’s not a “full time” B&B, as the owners, Kathy and Alan Guarino, have several other things that they do with their large property in the middle of Hudson Valley apple country. They accommodate corporate retreats and executive training sessions; they host a clay-pigeon shooting club and rent the property for weddings. But as B&B guests, we felt pampered and couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. The Rose Cottage has 3 guest rooms – we were in the king-bed room downstairs. The room had a large bathroom with custom tile shower and lots of towels and nice touches like an iPod friendly bedside clock and a bowl of Honeycrisp apples. There is a nice common sitting room on this floor, as well as a large kitchen with stove and full size fridge, Keurig coffee maker (great for us early-risers) and sunny breakfast room as well as a large deck. Kathy and Alan made us a delicious 3 course breakfast each morning at the time of our choosing – everything was over the top delicious, fresh and local.
Drive time to Hyde Park and the CIA was under a half hour and not difficult to navigate. Kathy and Alan warned us that the CIA could occasionally disappoint since they are, in fact, students. The CIA did not disappoint – we ate at American Bounty and found it well up to the standards of the best in Boston and an excellent value. The service was perhaps a little unpolished but they are not in school to be serving staff, now are they? Great value, reasonably priced and well selected wine list, and we were even comped a delicious cheese platter, perhaps since we waffled over the cheese cart for a while and decided to order a dessert instead. The Walkway over the Hudson, a railroad bridge converted to pedestrian bridge, is a mile-plus walk, high above the Hudson River. A bike rental shop is nearby and weekends seem to be popular with local fundraisers. We saw a quartet of bagpipers tuning up for a charity walk. Even on a lovely weekend day the bridge was not crowded, although the parking lot WAS, undoubtedly due to the charity walk.

This place is not only for dinner, but for the entertainment - finest jazz, blues and rock musicians play there. It is truly unique: settings (this is the building that used to be an old button making factory), the owner with his superb dedication to make something outstanding practically in the middle of nowhere, and very decent local food. However, if one wants to drink a good wine there - he is out of luck. The wine list is mediocre (wines are local as well) but it is compensated by usually great music and the exhibition of work of local artists.

My husband (Charlie West) is a total Deadhead and Jerry Garcia fan. We came out to celebrate his 61st birthday last night and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Deadgrass. So much so that I asked Charlie to see if there were CD's for sale. He found them 😁. He waited because the sales person was busy, was asked what he wanted, was handed a CD and the salesperson turned away to someone else. Charlie said that he just stood there with a smile and waited until the salesperson looked at him again. Charlie asked how much $. There was a smile, a thank you and a sigh of relief. So Charlie paid and gave a little more. Okay, there's the back story. The point is that Charlie tried to play it and it does not play. What can be done, it's his 61st birthday after all. 😉🎂
