I live locally and have wanted to go here for years, so it was with great enthusiasm that I finally got to The Japanese Stroll Garden. Let’s be clear from the get go, this was not a stroll. Uneven stairs marked by slippery rocks and...More

We've been here before, and it is a lovely spot, but the last time we knew they were struggling for money. We drove there today to find it closed(despite google saying it was open) and,in speaking with a neighbor, we were told it has been...More

Superb hidden gem. A traditional Japanese garden and tea house with plantings along the trails up the surrounding hills and down to the koi pond. If you are lucky a tea ceremony or traditional Japanese music will be in process.

The surprisingly hilly trail twists thru local and exotic plants by a tea house and makes you wish it were ten times the size. Be prepared to walk uneven ground, guides are available and recently advised it might be in danger of closing.

We visited in the rain - and it was especially wonderful. Almost on a par with the Asticou Azalea Garden in Seal Harbor, though more authentically japanese. One of the neglected treasures of Long Island - I hope rumors it might shut through lack of...More

Due to lack of funding the garden's tentative closing date will be in a couple of months (October). If you have the opportunity to go, GO. It is a 5 acre estate created by an Humes, an ambassador who landscaped the land to mimic a...More

The lush greenery of the garden ranging up the surprisingly hilly terrain is a perfect setting for this oriental garden. The pavilion and koi ponds blend with the gardens to make you breath deeper and let your spirit relax.
