Reasonable. rustic elf catering accommodation right near to the beach with good fishing. Port St. Johns town nearby for all your basic needs.

Isolated gem
Jan 2020 • Family
It is a beautiful spot with chalets nestled in sporadic areas. Well looked after and being nicely preserved. There was quite a few security guards on site. We only went for an hour and the beach is deserted and it seems very safe to go on hikes and even to swim. I saw no life guards on duty. There is also no restaurant or shops, so one has to drive to Port St John's or surrounds to get food if you decide to rent a chalet there.

Birthday party
Nov 2019 • Friends
I spent a day with friends on a birthday party on the meadow just next to the ocean, what a great experience. It's only R25 per person for a day.

Silaka
Sep 2019
a very quick in out the reserve due to my trip being business and i was shown around "town" and the attractions very very quickly due to me only staying two days. the staff and gate entering the reserve where extremely friendly and welcoming and everything was in tip top condition building wise etc. a very quick drive to a few "hot" spots that my host wanted me to see and roads were in good condition and NO Litter lying around which was awesome to see. a definite must visit for anyone going to Port St Johns with a mere R40/person entry fee. they also have accomadation available for those wanting to book in---- pre booking is reqd. And yes upon a time PSJ was very run down and dillapidated[i was last there 3 years ago 2015/16] but they have really cleaned up and town is looking good with buildings being revamped etc.

Pristine beaches and good fishing
Jul 2018
We stayed at Silaka for a week and enjoyed sightings of dolphins, many fish caught and the unspoilt coastline. It's a pity that Port Saint Johns (the nearest town) is so run down. If you can look past this, then Silaka is a wonderful place to be.

Beautiful Quiet Beach
Dec 2018 • Family
Visited Silaka Nature Reserve in December 2018. The staff are super friendly and informative. The beach on the reserve is quiet and beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed this beach day for its tranquility. Would recommend you take your own snacks and plastic bags to clean up after yourself as there are no convenience stores or beach front cafes to buy snacks/have lunch at.

Best Weekend at Silaka Nature Reserve
Aug 2018
Silaka Nature reserve offers the best views nature can render to humankind. You go to bed and be pampered by the roaring sea sound that takes you to deepest sleep even the hypnotists cannot offer and you are woken by beautiful sunshine and the nature forest that smiles to your face in a well built and well positioned chalets.
