The Wild Coast is a spectacular coastline! Wild Side Hiking gives it clients the opportunity to explore the beautiful Wild Coast while experiencing local hospitality, culture, and food. Our guide Buhle was really great! He grew up in the area so he knows it very well. I can't get enough of the rolling green hills and endless untouched beaches! You won't be staying in luxury accommodation but sleeping in the villages under thatched rondaville roofs adds authenticity and a perspective not offered by many hiking tours. Each host was quick to meet our needs and offered good food. The Xhosa pot bread is really good! I recommend booking a few nights at the Coffee Shack in Coffee Bay. Only get to spend an hour or two before heading back home. It's a beautiful place!

Had a wonderful five days hiking the Wild Coast with Wild Side Hiking. Everything from first contact with Albert to starting the hike was simple and easy. The scenery from roaming the hills with wonderful views of far off villages and houses. Walking from tracks and trails to the rough roads the locals use. The amazing walks along beautiful beaches with resting cows on them. The river crossings from walking, wading, row and very slow speedboats. The villages stayed in and great local meals. And my great guide Asanda. Everything was quite an experience and something highly recommended to do.

We were a group of 3 guys doing the 4-day hike from Port St. Johns to Coffee Bay with our guide Buhle. Booking was very easy! Albert organised every detail for us including the pickup from Mthatha airport and corresponded with us via Whatsapp. Everything went perfectly! Buhle himself is a very friendly, calm and experienced guide. We got along very well and talked, laughed and (obviously) walked a lot. The distances of 10-20km were well manageable (with an average fitness level). Sometimes the hills are quite steep, make sure not to overpack your backpack. Accomodation takes place in very nice family-based little villages. We got our own hut every night with comfortable mattresses or beds. Breakfast and dinner is cooked by the hosts and the food was just excellent! The walk was definitely the highlight of our journey among the Eastern Cape.

Thank you Johannes! I am very glad that you enjoyed the hike and had a wonderful time with Buhle. Its good to hear that you found the hike manageable, I fully agree with you about some of the hills being quite steep and your advice not to overpack your backpack is good! Come visit again and we'll show you much more!

We felt so lucky to have found such a easy-going, knowledgeable, and open guide to explore the Wild Coast with. Albert knows these communities so well and really gave us the inside view into the beautiful lifestyles, relationships, and ways of life that exist on the magical eastern cape. We loved hiking through jungle, sand beaches, navigating through rocky cliffs, and, at the end of the day, relaxing with our feet up to a breathtaking view and a delicious local meal and drinks. It was an adventure that will always be remembered and I'm sure we will be back! I really can't recommend Albert and Wild Side Hiking enough! If you do ONE THING in South Africa, DO THIS!
