Couldn't find this under accommodation, so I'm putting it here. We chose to stay here as it is the centre of Nyungwe where all the walks start from. Unfortunately it was bucketing down and pitch dark when we arrived! The hire tents are pitched on...More

Our primary goal in visiting the Nyungwe National Park was to see the chimpanzees and we were not disappointed. We set out at dawn with one of the park guides and he quickly led us to a place where we could observe a troop of...More

There are several trails of varying lengths and level of difficulty. The descriptions and walking times given are realistic if you are fit. It is mandatory to have a forest guide with you at all times. We walked with Daniel, a park guide, who had...More

We had a great time doing a canopy walk and one of the trails (3.5hrs, umuyove trail). Nice views and good experience of rainforest. Next time I would just do a longer hike as I found the canopy walk overpriced and it is a shame...More

We went to walk the canopy. Frankly to high for me but my wife and son loved it. The Park is so beautiful with some incredible views, and an excellent guide.

The canopy trail was a little short, so I added on another trail that is adjacent to it and had a nice hike overall, around 2.5-3 hours total. Being afraid of heights I wasn't sure about the canopy walk, but it ended up being pretty...More

The Nyungwe Forest Canopy walk is not for the light headed! It was a lovely adrenaline filled walk from canopy to canopy with a breath taking view of the forest.

This National Park is incredible, views of green mountains as far as the eye can see. Hiking tracks are well signed and the park is clean with great facilities.

We only stayed for only one night in the end as we were sadly called away by family illness. As it took us about 5 hours with stops to drive from Kigali, this was a bit of a shame. However we did do the canopy...More

Chimpanzee trekking. Colobus monkeys. Mountain monkeys. Waterfall hiking. This forest has it all ... so be sure to do it all! Truly a spot to be treasured on this planet!
