We stayed at Rainbow River Lodge, which is about 20km's from the Mahanga Game Reserve. It is a small reserve along the Okavango River and bordering Botswana in the South. There are only two routes to drive in the reserve. We did both and saw...More

This small game reserve is a gem on the road from Divundu (start of Caprivi Strip) down to Botswana. Quite close to the main B8 highway. There is an easy access road to the east of the C48 main road. That winds alongside the Cubango...More

We took both morning and afternoon game drives. The animals we saw on the afternoon drive were amazing. The best place to view them is around a waterhole as they congregate to drink or bathe.

Having traveled all across Namibia, Mahango is clearly our favorite. There are many great animals, including Tessebe, Lechwe, Giraffe, Roan, Sable, Hippo, Lions, and Buffalo. But the real treat is that you are allowed to leave your car inside the park.

This is a small park but there are enough roads to spend an interesting day driving around the park and looking for wildlife. Buffalo and Elephant are found here among other animals. One road in particular had many Elephants along the way. You pay a...More

We spent a morning here, driving ourselves from nearby Divava Resort and Spa. A quiet reserve but where we saw our first ever Sable antelope. We also enjoyed good sightings of various mammals and birds. And of baobab trees!

We spend 3 days visiting Mahango and had lots of wildlife sightings. There were not many visitors and it was possible to really enjoy the peace and quite corners of the park.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mahango. The Bar Deck and River Swimming pool was the highlight to our stay. We camped and the stands are nice and big and kept very neat and tidy. The view over the Okovango / Kavango river was breathtaking...More
