We went in family with young children and it was fun, but hot. The route is quite rough and good shoes are advised. It is a nice lagoon, but with rough water and currents at high tide.

This beach is a 30 minute walk along a coastal path from St Francois. The path is quite uneven and there are steps down to the beach which could make it difficult to access for people with mobilty issues. The sea has a strong undertow so my friend and I did not swim far out but stay near the beach. It is windy here so the heat is deceptive,we got sunburnt even though we applied sun lotion.Take a picnic as it is deserted.

There are several picturesque and secluded beaches in the stretch of cliffs south of St Francois, all of which are only accessible by the path. We met only a few other people in 6+ hours of walking and enjoying the sights. We were advised not to swim, and with the ocean crashing onto the beaches we saw why. Still a worthwhile place to visit.

Stunning and quiet beach, accessible only by walk. Do not underestimate the currents if swimming!
We visited this beach as part of an incredible hike from Graviers to St François Beach.

Been there with family and after a walk of around 20 mins easy walking from the parking area, we reached the first spot .
It was more beautiful than in pictures.
On the second spot which is not to be missed we got ghe opportunity to feel the deep sea and took great pictures to save this need to visit place.

Trou d'argent Beach were just wow. Filaos, rocks, the pathway all together make the most beautiful part of Rodrigues island. You can see how the turquoise water hit the golden sand, the waves thought your hair makes you feel amazing. Really to visit that beach

One of the few wonderful places to have a swin...in the world. And for a reason, you have to walk to get there! Worth the hike.
Try Anse Bouteille as well...Even better ;-)

Can children ages 4 and 7 walk from the parking lot to the beach? Is it an easy walk?

Yes, no problem! Just wear good shoes as the rocks can be a bit jagged and sharp.
