The Perlemoen Trail was a truly Wonderful experience . We were a group of 10 , and named ourselves , "Beric's B Team .The idea of returning to the same wonderful, tastefully appointed accommodation each evening , made it extremely convenient, as you did not have to pack up your belongings daily .The meals were Delicious and we loved the idea of having alternate evening meals in the local restaurants , so that the community also benefitted from our time in Pearly Beach. Jason is an Exceptional Host and Chef, having run a restaurant for a few years. The breakfasts and daily lunch boxes were so tasty and very well thought out.
Jason , Christoff and Grant , his team of guides , were so knowledgeable and just brought the whole coastline alive for us, with nothing being too much trouble. The hike is along some of the most pristine beaches and scenery we have ever seen, and we would certainly return again to see the shoreline at different times of the year .The Whales were spectacular , breaching repeatedly near to the shoreline . Jason truly has a way with people and you immediately feel at home and well looked after . Congratulations Jason and your Special team, for a life time experience that none of us will forget.

Thank you to Jason and your team of wonderful and knowledgeable guides for four amazing days. We learnt so much abut this really precious piece of our coastline. Four days of walking with a few Kelp Gathers and the odd fisherman being the only other people we saw.
From our first night in The Lucky Fish guest lodge to the lunch at Coffee on the Rocks in De Kelders on our last day, everything was excellent.
The accommodation was great, comfortable beds, a wonderfully convivial communal area where one could relax and interact.
The food was superb, from our welcoming dinner, the abundant breakfasts and the delicious packed lunches to the delicious braai masterfully done by Jason. Our forays into the local community for dinners was such fun.
The weather played ball and we only had one iffy day with an Easterly wind which accounted for the only day there was no swimming, we even swam in the pool in the cave.
A highly recommend slackpacking trail.

Our hiking group consisting of 13 friends walked the trail beginning of October 2022. Afterwards we agreed that the many new perspectives provided by Jason distinguished this trip from previous beach hiking trips. From the behavior of a whale to the smallest seashell, the origin of limestone rocks and of abalone shell heaps were explained in a very informative manner - spiced with humor! The trip was well planned to allow us to walk on low tide hard sand and to depart in the morning and be fetched afterwards on time. The spacious Lucky Fish guest house with excellent facilities is strongly recommended. We strongly recommend hikers to share this outstanding experience.

Best and most insightful hike with professionals. We were a group of 12 ladies/friends and I would recommend this trip anytime to anyone. Jason, Billy and the rest of the team made the trip so interesting, sharing so much information that made us stand in awe of how wonderful God created the heavens and earth. They were very hospitable, and friendly. The accommodation was of high standard, the food, venues, atmosphere were great. There is not even loadshedding at this great, with sea-view, accommodation. The distances and time spent hiking was perfect. The caves and climbs were the highlight with the perfect ending at the guesthouse in De Kelders, with quiche and salads and lovely cake. This slack packing trip sets itself apart from the rest because of Jason and Billy's most amazing way in which they presented it.

We had a super time on the trails with Jason and his fellow guides. The lodgings are top-notch and the food served scrumptious. Effortless efficiency and attention to detail sets this experience apart from any other options out there. Thank you Jason and team!

My favourite part of the trail (although it is very hard to select anything specific, since absolutely everything about the trail and our stay was exquisite, to the last detail), would be the long walks on or next to the beach, constantly being surrounded by masses of wild flowers of every sort and colour that you can imagine (and cannot even imagine!). If you have missed your visit to Namaqualand this year, this trip would have more than made up for it.🌼🌷🌺 Long stretches of beautiful white beaches, the intense turquoise blue of the sea and an abundance of sea life provides the ultimate surrounding in which to unwind optimally. Add to this the knowledgeable guides (each providing you with interesting information about what you are seeing or experiencing, new perspectives on different aspects of life and lots of food for thought), wonderful hosts (with their amazing team) who go not one, but every extra mile to make their guests feel welcome and happy at all times and beautiful, comfortable accommodation, accompanied by excellent meals, you truly have a winning recipe.

Jason from Beachcomber Guide took us on the Perlemoen Trail. From the accommodation, to the catering, to the informative guided walks - all was well managed and professional. Jason and his team made sure that our group which ranged from age 10 to 55 all had fun. This Trail really fed the soul. Thank You.

4 days that I will not soon forget. what a magical getaway. The walking was easy, the guides were VERY knowledgeable, the accommodation was tremendous.
Not only was the food good but the team went out of their way to organize a fish braai and some delicacies that we specifically asked for.

A group of 12 friends who decided to do the Perlemoen Trail with Jason / Beachcomber Guide.
What a magnificent experience !!! We are all permanent residents in the Overberg and quite used to the natural beauty that our area provides but this was a different level of experience.
Thank you so much to Jason and Billy - Expert guides who enthralled us all the way with their accumulated knowledge and passion for the fauna and flora that they obviously have such a love for.
Lucky Fish Accommodation was stupendous, comfortable and magnificently equipped for a large group .
I can only thank you all once again. What an amazing experience !

Our walking group did this trail, all of us aged 50+ and whilst there is a need for a certain level of fitness, it is a very do-able trail.
The scenery was magical and we were guided by an incredible guide, Billy, who's knowledge of the flora, birds and other sea life is incredible. Add to this a lovely poem each day to enrich the experience.
Even a day of rain, did not detract from the experience with some of our group finding a wonderful wine farm after the day's hike to warm the souls again!
The accommodation was more than comfortable and catering was fantastic and could not be faulted.
I would highly recommend this experience.
