About
The Dullstroom Bird Of Prey & Rehabilitation Centre strives to educate the public on the plight of raptors. We provide flying demonstrations, handling and photographic days to the public as part of our educational drive. We have a self guided tour through our resident birds, each with its own history of how they came to be at the Centre. We rehabilitate injured wildlife and also breed and release raptors back into the wild. Flying demonstrations are strictly weather permitting and start at 10h30 and 14h30 Wed- Mon. Please come earlier as it is a fair walk to the demonstration area. The demonstration area is outside with no shade so remember hats, sunscreen in summer. Centre is closed on Tuesdays unless it falls on a public holiday. We are a registered non-profit Trust and do not receive financial assistance from the government. Our existence and survival is solely dependent on the entrance fees, donations and sponsorships of you our visitors.

This Rehabilitation centre is doing an amazing job in rescue, Rehabilitation and saving these birds of prey. It's neat, tidy and each bird has a story. Had it not been for the hard work and dedication of the people behind the scenes, what would happen to these poor birds. The show was phenomenal! Unbelievably amazing that these birds can be taught like this. Mind blowing. Well done guys! You are doing a wonderful job.

Live demonstration at Bird of Prey not always as advertised.

What a disappointment to arrive with my granddaughter for her to see a live demonstration. Advertised for 10H30 and 14H30, just to be told on arrival there is no show. I know weather plays a factor, but it was a clear and beautiful day. We were only in Dullstroom for one day and we will not be returning to Dullstroom in the near future. Just very disappointing.

Great work done at rehab centre; many fantastic birds of prey; our national bird, blue cranes, roam around freely; disappointed not witnessing feeding show, too windy

Absolutely worth a visit

The bird of prey rehabilitation centre is well worth a visit. We had a flying demonstration and it was incredible to see these majestic birds fly freely. There is a wonderful connection between the birds and the handler and she treated them all with much love and respect. The owners and workers are doing a great job at rehabilitation the birds that can be and taking care of those that cannot be. It was a wonderful visit.

A lovely visit with my son and his grandparents.
The flight demostration was awesome and excited the kids which served to teach them about NOT keeping wild animals as pets.

We booked for the early morning Handling visit. This is limited to 2 adults so it’s really a wonderfully close encounter. With a lot of patient instruction from Magdali, who shows an amazing passion for her calling, we handled 9 stunning birds of different species, each with their own personality. We spent 3 wonderful hours at the sanctuary and can certainly recommend this as an amazing adventure.
