Excellent dive charter in a perfect location. The east coast on Tahiti Iti has the most pristine & untouched healthy corals I have seen. The dive masters (guides)were very friendly, helpful and took their time getting everything just right. The boat and equipment were very clean and in excellent condition, basically brand new. It was definitely worth the drive down from Papetee, do not miss this opportunity while you are in Tahiti. Book with Mokarran!!

I have been fortunate enough to dive in 23 countries with many different dive operators and Mokarran rates right up at the top. Not only are they pofessional with equipment in top condition but they are so passionate about what they do and are very keen to share their love and knowledge of the reefs and fish life with you. The reefs in the area are pristine and marine life is plentiful with a number of unusual species. Thanks again to Darryl, Michelle,Clive and Sam.

We stayed 8 nights at Rocktail Camp and had a total of 9 dives with Mokarran.
We loved it so much!
Mokarran Crew, every single person of them, is perfect in their job! I've done scuba diving in South Africa and overseas but I've never seen an excellent prepared and maintained equipment, boat, scuba equipment, helpful and safety-conscious staff like here. Reefs are full of small stuff to explore. Take your time and enjoy it.

They've made the best out of our stay, special thanks to Brian (gorgeous dive guide and best guide ever :) ), Clive & Michelle.

Darryl and Sam are great. They offer a world class facility and service. Their dive centre has everything you need. The boats and equipment are all in fantastic condition. They kit up and clean all your personal gear for you if you take your own. The dive sites are abundant and possibilities of seeing something special guaranteed. The reefs are untouched with massive coral colonies and the fish life immense. I'm definitely planning a trip back with a group of dive buddies.

We recently had the joy of diving with this Dive Center at our recent stay at Rocktail Beach Camp, and they were great. They are actually adjacent to Rocktail, so they couldn’t be more convenient, and they rinse and store your gear for you each night if you are staying at Rocktail, which is definitely an appreciated perk, as it saves you carrying gear back and forth each day. They are located just a few minute drive from Rocktail’s private beach (which is right off the Maputaland Marine Reserve), and do easy Zodiac launches into the surf. There are quite a few nice reef dive spots close to their launch location, and Captain/Owner Darryl does a great job of getting you there quickly and smoothly, and Sam and Jacques will guide you on some great dives. Surface intervals are spent under the trees off the beach, and breakfast is provided. Keep in mind, due to the Marine Reserve status, there is no night diving here…and because of the Zodiac launches, if wind/waves are high, the dives will be cancelled. Still, you’re likely to have a great dive experience here, and the staff is wonderful. Enjoy!!

Biggest diversity of aquatic life you will find anywhere in the world. From frog fish, paperfish, nudis to humpback whales, whale sharks and much more. Friendly staff, great vibe. Good viz most of the time, even with an average viz you will still have an amazing dive!!

My family and I stayed at Rocktail Camp, and it was fantastic that Mokarran is immediately adjacent. Staff from the dive center come to your dinner table to book the "ocean adventure" or diving excursions for the next day--very convenient. My family did the ocean adventure where you take a boat to see dolphins or whales and then head back to the beach for a catered breakfast. Please note that while the Ocean Adventure is exhilarating and we did see and swim with over 20 dolphins, it is not for the faint of heart. The waves can be quite large, and it is difficult to get into the inflatable boat from the beach and from the water. Once Darryl spotted the dolphins, he gave the go ahead and Sam and all of us jumped into the waves with our snorkels and fins that were provided by Mokarran. We saw a group of 20 dolphins swimming and jumping--truly amazing. I personally struggled to get back into the boat and thankfully Darryl helped me out.

A few days later, I rented full equipment and went on two dives (Elusive and Aerial) with Michelle as guide and Clive as our driver. We boarded the same boats, but the waves were smaller and by this time I had figured out how to get in with a bit less help.

I have dived at the great barrier reef, Maldives, and in Spain, but on these dives, I saw much more diversity of marine life. I am not an overly experienced diver and Michelle did a good job explaining the dive site and the dive plan. She pointed out a number of interesting creatures underwater, and as a result, discovered that I have some work to do on my underwater sign language. :-) I have not mastered my air management so hit 50 bar and surfaced before the others in the group. Both times, Clive had caught a large fish while we were diving--a tuna and a mackerel. Between dives we had a fantastic breakfast catered by Rocktail Camp. Wow, was there a lot of food and it was delicious!

Clive, Michelle, Darryl and Sam were great hosts and I would definitely recommend an excursion with them.

We had an amazing week staying at Rocktail and diving with Mokarran on the north coast of Kwazulu Natal South Africa. Super professional team - they looked after us really well, safety conscious, very friendly and really made effort to point out lots of critters. They even served us breakfast on the dune overlooking the empty beach and magnificent sea while whales breached on the horizon. The reefs are spectacular and pristine in this protected reserve - Tons of life! Even saw a humpback whale and her calf cruising by at the safety stop. Their rental gear is in great condition, big spacious dingie / zodiac, comfortable facilities. All round a world class experience - thank you for a memorable time!
