Easy drive, just a dirt road albeit a long one. Get the best out of this and stop for a hike. Do take some water, and don’t get lost.

We drove this byway today and are so glad we did. We saw beautiful colors in the hills and deep canyons that just begged to be hiked. We saw only one other vehicle.The drive is two way traffic and narrow but perfectly safe to drive....More

This is a BLM graded road, so there aren't any sections that really require off-road 4WD vehicles. (There are some side roads that go off of the Byway that might require off-road 4WD vehicles, but we didn't try those that day.) That said, there is...More

If you like hiking this is agree at place to go. There are all sorts of hidden wonders from petroglyphs to rattlesnakes to beautiful views and rocks. Be sure to take plenty of water and stay aware.
