The farm has been the jewel of the Bovlei valley for three centuries and has had many owners. The current farm dates from 1993 with the decision to grow high quality wine grapes. The first vines were planted in 1995. Since the present owners acquired it in 2003, they have built a winery, tasting room and storage complex. In 2005, the farm was given Estate status.

We visited Doolhof for a wine tasting and lunch. The wine tasting is such a treat, laid out in a circle, with labels. We had the cheese and meat platter, that was plenty for 2 people. A real treat. The airconditioning inside was very welcome.

We changed our lunch plans and phoned Doolhof to ask whether they could accommodate us. We were lucky enough to visit without a booking! The wine tasting is very different to what I'm used to, however, I thoroughly enjoyed it. All the tasting notes and...More

We returned to Doolhof having been there a few years ago while on the Wellington Wine Walk. We booked for a wine tasting and lunch and were a little disappointed in the service and the general state of the tasting/restaurant room. The way the wine...More

staff are friendly and the wine tasting provided a good range of the wines in offer. Setting is nice in a secluded valley at the end of an unmade road

We had to go and stock our red wines we discovered this Estate a few months ago and fell in love with their red wines. We went back to purchase a few more. What a great find.

We visited this estate when on the Wellington Wine Walk. Stunningly beautiful estate nestling in the valley. Wine tasting room is beautiful too but has no soul. The lady who poured wine only knew details on bottle. Wine maker was not present. This winery makes...More

It is worth getting off the beaten track and visiting this farm. Their wines are excellent, after three years of drinking them at different occasions.

Right at the end of the Bo-vlei road and right beneath Bainskloof pass with stunning scenery. I enjoyed their wines and had a nice cold meat and cheese platter for lunch. Friendly service and a must do estate if you're after good wines
