We enjoyed the walk to the waterfall, on the shaded, clearly marked and well-maintained path. The scenery and sound scapes were beautiful. Only saw three other groups of walkers the whole time which was during peak season and on a weekend, so mostly we felt...More

We stopped off en-route to walk and admire the beauty of the area. It was well worth the small detour.

It should be safe to walk from Swellendam to the main gate of the park. There you will get the information you need and suggestions on how to proceed. You are safe as long as you follow their advice. Have a lovely time!
