We stopped off en-route to walk and admire the beauty of the area. It was well worth the small detour.

This Nature Reserve offers stunning views and beautiful fynbos. There are a number of hiking trails but they are not well signposted as regards length/ distance. Well worth a visit to be so close to the mountains. Wild Card accepted.

It should be safe to walk from Swellendam to the main gate of the park. There you will get the information you need and suggestions on how to proceed. You are safe as long as you follow their advice. Have a lovely time!
