The reserve has large numbers of the scarce Bontebok as well as other antelopes and Zebra. It is easy to get to from the N2 and has very good facilities for picnics or staying over.

Wonderful way to spend an half day. The park is deceptively large and has a large range of game to view.

We stayed the night in Swellendam en route to the Garden Route. Our hotel recommended a visit to Bontebok National Park, and we enjoyed our visit immensely. You drive yourself around - it takes a couple of hours. We saw lots on bontebok and a few grey rhebuck plus some interesting birds such as black shouldered kite, purple heron &... More

The ranger was very helpful and gave us a good briefing for the drive. The drive was well signed and we saw some animals. We did the 5.4 KM walk which was excellent and lovely scenery.

We went to Bontebok for a picnic and drive through the park. We saw plenty of wildlife (inc zebra). Really easy to navigate and would definitely recommend.

Spent some 5 hours driving and hiking around this beautiful nature preserve. Your pay ZAR 100 entrance fee per person (not car), and get a nice chat with lots of history and advice from the reception desk. Having had problems to find the right entrance, we we're very happy with the sign posting within the little park, which is SA's... More

We drove to the Bontebok National Park on a lovely summer morning. It is quite easy to find. If you are driving from Swellendam just look for a sign on the left hand side. You have to sign in at Reception, pay a conservation fee, and then follow a track. It wasn't long before we saw a pair of bontebok... More
